Yeah...maybe a stretch.
But...
The Browns went 5-11 in '95 because the move was announced and Cleveland fans no longer supported the team, and many players/staff were aware major changes were coming.

2000 Ravens still had players and staff that Bill had recruited.

A stretch, but not totally untrue.

Point is Bill got the Browns out of the dumpster and past the wild card round.
Hasn't happened since Bill was HC.
Actually, Rob Burnett, Matt Stover and Larry Webster were the only players from the 95 Browns still on the 2000 Ravens roster.....

Even though they didn't win it last year, (we all know who won it )

In all serious though the man has put himself right up there with other coaches!
You can bitch and moan all you want about cheating, but the bottomline is he still wins!
His franchise is in it every damn year!

He is in the conversation for sure and in the top 7 or 8. I can't say no #1 for sure because I don't know all that much about HCs from the 1960s and back

Belichick coached for 4 miserable seasons at Cleveland before he got lucky with Tom Brady in New England. He had a 36-44 record with the Browns.

For the Browns that's actually a great record

How many from the '96 draft that had Ernie Adams and Bill's analysis?

I agree I have him top coach today and top 7 of all-time Lombardi, Landry,Noll,Walsh, bitch Shula and Gibbs also imo. If he played Butler , and gave Pats a chance and if they won, cement top 5.

BB was fired in 1995 and made a move with SF to get extra picks for the 1996 draft which he was not involved.....Ozzie is responsible for the 1996 draft picks which landed Ogden and Lewis.....

Vince Lombardi never had a losing record as head coach.

Both of which were on Belichick's draft list.
Ozzie knew this.

My guess is if you asked BB, he'd say it's Paul Brown.

The last playoff victory for the Browns ('94) was under Belichick, and, interestingly enough, against his old boss, Bill Parcells and the Patriots.
