HUGE game for the Hawks tonight. While I dont think a loss completely takes them out of an at large spot a WIN puts them IN as of right now IMO. I think Iowa can still get in with a loss if they win their last 2 in B10 play and get 2 wins in the B10 tourney but a win here would be sweet.. Going to be almost impossible of course as winning in Bloomington is almost unheard of AND with the Hoosiers coming off a loss they will be fuming mad. The good part is that Iowa always plays the Hoosiers well ( winning 4 of the last 6 including 2 of the last 3 in Bloomington)

Unfortunately, I think the choke job at Nebraska took us out of the NCAA tourney. The only way I think we get in is if we beat Indiana (very tough to do, especially on the road) and win the next two. We don't win out, we are not going to the Dance.

I think an Iowa loss tonight makes wins in the last 2 games a MUST and then Iowa will need to take care of business in the first B10 tourney game and then upset either Wisky or MSU in the quarters ( as though are the Hawks most likely matches as a B10 6 seed). IF they can do that I just dont see any way the torueny doesnt take a .500 team from the B10 that has 22 wins and 6-7 top 100 wins. Especially with the bubble so weak this year. I say we just beat IU tonight and make it a moot point :)

I hope they do. It's asking a lot from a young team. We just don't have that consistent go to guy when games are close.

It's going to be hard to do with Gesell out until at least the start of the conference tourney. NIT, here we come.

I know i'm in the minority, but I still think Iowa gets in with if they win two home games and win their first B1G tourney game. That would give them 3 tourney wins to only two bad losses (@ VT and @ Nebraska, none of which are awful) and a 9-9 record in the B1G. KenPom and BPI would likely have them in the dance, and there was really only one blowout loss all season. A lot would depend on how the conference tourneys went nationwide, but teams have gotten in with worse resumes even before the tourney went to 68.

I think they can still get in even w/ loss at Indiana. But they would have to win out and I think they have to win 2 games possibly 3 in tourney; most likely 2, 1 isn't good enough.

Every single other metric has Iowa ranked between 34th and 53rd right now. All of them. RPI is the only outlier so Id guess Iowas chances hinge mostly on A) How much the committee uses RPI or B) How much they used ALL metrics. Eye ball test says Iowa should be in but since this isnt college football Im not sure how much the eyeball test gets used.

I've heard that RPI isn't weighted as heavily as previous years. We can only hope that's the case. I still think we get left out.

This is a huge senior day for IU. I'm going to be offended if Iowa is in the game at that point.

Iowa, for whatever reason, seems to matchup well with Indiana. Hawks have won 5 of the last 7 including 2 of the last 3 in Bloomington and even the last 2 years since the Hoosiers resurrection the Hawks are 1-2 but could easily have won the first game this year. Some teams just matchup better with others.
