Especially on a defense like ours that has been a little soft lately. Usually the tough solid guys even if they don't pan out the way you thought still play the run well because of their effort. When the Diva guys don't pan out they usually hurt you more than help you. I keep reading how the DL is nowhere near what it was last year, but I'm still hoping Dix and then a steal of a DL in the second.

gonna be a deep draft on linemen (both sides of the ball) ..... (currently)((combine and media tends to change things))

This is one of those meat and potato drafts after the first 15 go ..... Which is exactly what the Cowboys need

Hagemin in round 1. Donald in round 2. We would then have a chance on defense. Hagmin could take hatchers spot and donald could be used at both end and dt. I notice that both these guys had to be doubled in college

I think Kony,Hagemin and donald will be better pros than sharif floyd. Floyd was overrated. There was a reason why he fell. Hagemin reminds me of leon lett a little. It is true that after the combine a workout warrior or 2 will enter the top half of the draft

I've seen a lot of mocks lately that would have the Cowboys with their pick of DL. Theres a good chance at least 4 QB's are taken in the top 10. Every time a QB or OT comes off the board, it helps the Cowboys. I would go Dix or Jernigans, but a trade down if Dix is gone wouldn't be out of the question

Clinton-Dix in the first.

Best available D-line in the 2nd & 3rd

Project QB in the 4th

Oline in the 5th

Best available athlete on defense in 6th & 7th

That's what my draft would look like, ideally. A draft like this would fill the glaring holes this team has. And with a little luck in the health department next year, this defense could start to creep back to being respectable.

I think there is a very good chance Dix is still around at the end of the first. I would have no problem trading down, getting him late, and then (hopefully we would get at least a 2nd for moving down), go 2 DL in the 2nd.

You mean get a second for moving down, like we did last year? Lol

Jerry is not capable.

I don't want to see Jerry gamble, if Clinton-Dix is there when Dallas picks, they better grab him. Im starting to worry that he won't be available though. Teams are taking safeties earlier and earlier nowadays, and Clinton-Dix seems to be the pick of the litter. I actually would be okay with moving up 2-3 slots to get him if necessary. Provided, it wouldn't cost Dallas a third round pick.

From what I've read I don't believe Dix is worthy of a mid first round pick. The average draft position I've seen is late first/second round for him. If we stay at 16 I think there will be numerous defensive lineman to choose from.

Darnit...we were on such a roll!!! no trading up unless they absolutley love this guy and think he is a can't miss pick and significantly better than what else we could get 2 picks later. i think we need to stay right where we are because thinking on the fly and having it pay off doesn't seem to be our strong point

Im not usually a fan of trading up, but im desperate for some quality safety play. As long as we could keep a pick in each of the first 3 rounds, I would be okay. Landing a premium talent at our biggest need is worth giving up a 4th and 6th.
