Catch and Release is not lame...........

Unless I'm going to eat it that day or atleast that week, I never keep a fish.

1. Fresher the better
2. Let the Fish get bigger
3. Not going to clean a fish for it to sit in the freezer for 2 months....
4. Let the Fish get bigger
5. Who wants to eat a Cat over 20 lbs anyway......
6. Let the Fish get Bigger

I have one rule I've followed my whole life, and that is don't eat largemouth bass. Of course I grew up fishing basically every day and my dad is friends with several pro fishermen and they all say the same thing.....largemouth are simply game fish, you catch them for the thrill and release them unless you're planning to mount one on the wall. I guess I didn't make that one rule myself, I was taught.

3. Get away from Gf/wifey
4. Um, yeah... I've got dozens.. biggest= 58 flathead in Canel by North Platte
5. Actually they can be good eating, but you need a clean tank and one week to let them clean out
6. Get a tan

+1....... I've kept one largemouth since I was 11.....

It has been sitting in my freezer for 3 years, I NEED to get it mounted but I have other priorities to spend 300 bucks on... 7 lbs 14 oz 24 1/2" Female who had just layed her eggs... caught near North Platte..

Damn that is a hell of a largemouth for around this neck of the woods. My dad caught a 6 lbs 13 oz largemouth when I was with him and that one now sits on the wall in my parent's basement. The very next summer I caught 3 master anglers but none were larger than my dad's so I released them all. I'm lookin' for one in that 7 lb range myself.

Thanks....

The thing I'm most proud of is the fact that it wasn't out of a farm pond, but a public interstate lake...

It was dumb luck that I got it though, I was actually dayfishing for Cat with about a 2" bluegill running about 10ft from the shore just above the moss line... That bass took it and after about a minute of trying to keep it out of the weeds... I lost....... I actually caught the fish by hand!!! My buddy got me close but I actually had to jump in about 3 ft of water and grab the fish, cuz he had wrapped my line around a group of reeds about 7 times.

I've swore on Gamakatsu circle hooks ever since.
