Between ending Bo Jackson's football career, and saddling them with Carson Palmer, the Bengals sure have fucked over the Raiders, eh?

Wow, this is pretty crazy! Pretty shocked and from the looks of it Palmer is going to be traded or cut.

With the salary cap implications, I highly doubt Carson is cut. If anything, he'll be traded which I also doubt unless McKenzie wants to bring in Flynn.

The Raiders fire their head coaches annually. What's the big deal?

Apparently, this had little to do the direction of the team or Hue as a head coach. It had more to do with Hue's actions/words after the season:

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, public comments from Jackson regarding his desire to exert greater influence rubbed owner Mark Davis and those advising him (e.g., John Madden, Ron Wolf) the wrong way.

“I’m going take a stronger hand in this whole team, this whole organization,” Jackson said after the Raiders’ season ended with a disappointing 8-8 record. “There ain’t no way that I’m going to feel like I feel today a year from now, I promise you that. There’s no question. Defensively, offensively and special teams. I ain’t feeling like this no more. This is a joke. . . . Yeah, I’m going to take a hand in everything that goes on here.”

The next day, Jackson made things even worse for himself. “I would hope that as the head coach of this football team I would hope that the organization understands that I have a pretty good idea of where we need to go,” he said as to his possible involvement in the search for a General Manager. “Because if not, then I shouldn’t be where I’m sitting.”

In the end, Hue’s own words did him in | ProFootballTalk

He dug his own grave with those comments. Seems like the power he got right after Davis died went right to his head.

Where does he go? Miami? Cleveland? Washington? J-E-T-S? Arizona would be a place I would consider, look what it did for Warner.

Maybe that Oakland/Cincy game won't be Palmer's grand return to Cincinnati.

This will be interesting to see how this plays out. Given the way that team is built and the money already spent, I think you have to keep Palmer. If McFadden comes back healthy and someone rebuilds that defense, the Raiders could instantly compete in the AFC-W. Ripping things up once again with no draft picks in place to rebuild it just doesn't make any sense.

I'd personally cut Palmer. They were better with JC at QB not turning the ball over then they were with Mr. Turnover Palmer.

What's intersting about the Jets is that Hue Jackson already been rumoured as an OC canidate there if/when(?) Brian Schottenheimer is gone. It depends also if they want to give Sanchez gets another yr I guess...

Palmer will land somewhere..

Jackson said they're "gutting" the team, which I would means new off coaches, and that Palmer's most likely gone (either via trade or cut)

This could be a blessing in disguise for the Bengals. If Gruden gets the Jaguars job I would have no problem bringing Jackson back as the OC.

I'd be fine with Jackson as our OC.

I like Jackson as an offesive mind, but I don't think Dalton's talents would be maximized in vertical Coryell scheme...

seems like he works best in a WCO
