Miami will have no problems if this holds up across college football.

20 years of destructive decisions should cost the university money. The loyalty/stupidity of the fans paying to watch mediocre football allowed for things to get this bad.

I actually disagree that they made destructive decisions for 20 years. You are just disappointed that none of them reached the standard that Osborne reached. Tom Osborne only had two 10-win seasons and five 9-win seasons his first 7 seasons as head coach.

I would say the only destructive decision Nebraska made in last 20 years is hiring Mike Riley. I believe they hired him because he was a nice guy and Pelini was a ticking time bomb, and Riley and AD were good friends. Even though he had HC experience, he wasn't successful and I don't think that had anything to do with the decision.

Solich, Callahan, Pelini, and Frost were all made with hopes to be successful. I think Solich was but didn't live up to Osborne's standard. Callahan just wasn't a good fit at Nebraska. Pelini was a great fir for Nebraska, but like a said he was a ticking time bomb. And Frost is too soon to tell.

Somehow Alabama will come up with a way to say they are number one in social distancing or some shit.

Hint; they won't. Neither will Michigan keep the streak of 100K + alive, unless the NCAA says all things 2020 are void
Michigan's steak ended during Hoke. They just lied to keep it going.

For FY 2019, the Nebraska Athletic Department made $12,000,000 in profit, even though donations dropped to $6,000,000.

If Nebraska pulled in big donations(like Texas and Oklahoma), their profitability would be the best in the nation.

Of course, that would mean that Nebraska is winning.

To the OP, Nebraska pulled shenanigans during the Callahan era to keep the sell out streak alive. The big companies in Omaha(Conagra) bought the remaining 6000 tickets at the games. To be fair, a lot of those tickets were returned by the visiting schools(in some cases, 4000 tickets), part of the reason is that the schools were trying to ruin the sellout streak by returning the tickets on the Thursday before the Saturday game. The school had already lined up the companies for this scenario as the school had heard about what the Big 12 was trying to do. This is another reason I really despise Dan Nero Beebe.

Probably true. But still, all those attendance streaks around the country are ending this year unless there's an asterisk by them all.

If Nebraska has 30k tickets to sell and they sell them all t,he sellout streak remains intact. The streak is based on ticket sales, not butts in seats.

For sure, there were not 100,000 at the 2008 Northwestern game. I was there with plenty of leg room around me and empty ROWS. Bad football, cold, rainy and the first day of hunting season was enough to keep the attendance below 100,000. Maybe 80,000 or so that day, which is still really good, but not 100,000. FWIW, it was so miserable (did not anticipate the weather and was poorly dressed). I left at the half and listened to the 2nd half on the radio on the way back to Southfield. Missed a great Northwestern victory celebration!

That may be true in Ann Arbor. Knoxville? Different story.
