I actually started to think about this yesterday lol.

Would prefer the Tigers just flat out tank and not make it. But this would be a pretty funny scenario.

Almost as funny as Derek Jeter watching the playoffs from his couch after his farewell tour

Yeah because everyone was predicting the Yankees to be a lock for the ALCS/playoffs right:L

Didn't CSD say he was expecting a deep playoff run from the Yank earlier in the season? And that the Yankees would have a good offense? Lol.

CSD doesn't count. Obviously Yankees fans (like me) would be homers and predict the yanks to make the playoffs. I'm talking about the non-biased analyst. Damn near everyone had the yankees missing the playoffs

I have said a number of times that I expect the Yankees to win 83 games and finish second in the East this year. No playoffs. Before the season started I stated that the ALEast could go to anybody, but didn't predict my order until early May.

What would be funnier is if Detroit miss the playoffs and Oakland gets eliminated in the WC 1 game playoffs

Funny would be yankee fans watching Cano in the playoffs after all te trash they talked when he left for seattle. "Enjoy never making the playoffs"

I would love an AL postseason of

Oakland
KC
Baltimore
Anaheim (because they're nowhere near LA)
Seattle

NY, Boston, Detroit all sitting at home.

That would be great. But it didn't start there. Back in the ESPN board days the posters there thought that getting Felix was their god given right and couldn't understand a player wanting to play for a community that he loves.

I would be ecstatic to see the Angels and Mariners in the WC game. That would be the best WC matchup we might see for quite some time in this new playoff format.

Ms SHOULD make the playoffs (they got hot at the right time) but we'll see. That division race isn't even over yet. I can't believe there's an ESPN poll that says, "Which teams wins the AL West?" and only the Angels/A's are listed. Umm hello, the Ms are only 6 back, Oakland has lost 4 straight, and Seattle is fully healthy while having a pretty decent batting rotation and getting some power back since Morales is finally getting back to form.

Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ms start to take over the division soon. They are young, have very good prospects that were called up this year. The As went ALL in for this year, and the Angels are getting old (like bottom 5'ish in league).
