Separating the sec would be:
Alabama, Georgia, Auburn
Miss St, South Carolina, Florida, A&M
LSU, Missouri, Kentucky, Ole Miss
Arkansas, Tennessee, Vandy

Maybe swap LSU and A&M
Just curious. Why is South Carolina getting so much love? Not just in your list, but overall. They still have Will Mus don't they?

Everybody is underestimating the Big XII.

Oklahoma has a 1st round MLB phenom Quarterback.
Texas has a real defense.
Paterson always develops good.
And Gundy, he's a man, he's 50.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

One of these four is true. It is not the middle two.

Iowa State is not a push over, ask OU. I really like their coach. He doesn't have the program where he wants it, but I wouldn't sleep on that guy. I am still trying to figure out why he took that job.

He is legit but it's Iowa State. I'm surrounded by Iowa State alums so I'm a little biased but I'd love to see what he could do in a decade there. But that won't happen-a year or two he moves on and they rebuild.

He took the job because it was a decent P5 gig, he believes in himself and they gave him 8 mil guaranteed to see if it was the right fit. I'm killer at my job and if someone said I'll double or triple your salary and give you responsibilities you should be able to handle I'd take it in a heartbeat. Same principle here

I am too. But not as much as why Rhule took the Baylor job? Iowa State needed a lot of things but taking the Baylor job was like having to unstop the toilet and completely replace the sewer line...and I don't mean just in your yard. I mean the line all the way to the sewer plant!

How can the Pac12 have a 'fake contender' that you also list under 'good teams as in competing for the four team playoffs'?

In Washington's and Wisconsin's case they are good simply because of their weak schedule. Their record will put them in the playoff talk. Their schedule will put them out of it, unless they go 13-0.

Very easy schedule. PAC 12 is not exactly going to make it tough on Washington. PAC 12 went 1-8 in bowls in 2017. Auburn lost their bowl game. Washington's opponents that went bowling went 1-6 overall in their bowl games. Washington LOST their bowl game.

Three of the teams that went bowling and lost their games, fired coaches, and have a new head coach. Chip Kelly being a good hire. BUT!!! Chip Kelly is starting with players he was not the OC for in the previous two years. Who is the starting QB at UCLA? Can Chip Kelly do anything in the PAC 12 without Phil Knight money?

After Auburn, what exactly scares Washington?

North Dakota? This is the OTHER school in North Dakota, not North Dakota State.

BYU? Both Wisconsin and Washington play BYU this year. Both play BYU at their home field. Wisconsin plays BYU first.

Washington plays
Stanford 7-2 in conference for 2017 went 2-3 OOC lost bowl game
Arizona State 6-3 in conference but went 1-3 OOC lost bowl game, coach fired, NEW head coach
Washington State 6-3 in conference went 3-1 OOC lost bowl game
Oregon 4-5 in conference in 2017 lost bowl game, coach fired, NEW head coach. Don't be fooled by Oregon OOC record in 2018
UCLA 4-5 in conference lost bowl game, coach fired, NEW head coach. Great hire by UCLA
Utah 3-6 in conference WON their bowl game over WVU, only PAC 12 bowl win
California 2-7 in conference
Colorado 2-7 in conference
Oregon State 0-9 in conference

From NCAA Five “easiest” Power 5 schedules based on wins and losses of 2018 opponents from 2017:

1. Oregon — 65-87 (.428)
2. Virginia Tech — 70-78 (.476)
3. Wisconsin — 72-79 (.477)
4. Washington — 73-80 (.477)
5. California — 76-77 (.497)

Three of the five “easiest” schedules belong to the Pac-12 North

Oregon didnt fire their coach.
Stanford was 7-2 but also won the division.
going of W and L from last season doesnt mean this season teams cant be better or worse. look at Colorado over the last 3 seasons

Isn't that the same record that Auburn ended with???

And wasn't LSU 9-4?

I guess those teams shouldn't scare anyone this year.....Whoop eee dee doo!!!!!

If you are going to make a point of bowls why not give credit to Stanford for being division winner?

1st place SEC two legit contenders, several schools that can do damage. Their perennial worst school, Vanderbilt, still went 5-7. Last I looked Baylor and Kansas stunk, Illinois and Rutgers stunk, Oregon State stunk

2nd place B1G has the most good teams and the most bad teams.

3rd place ACC one of their good teams farted a lot last year in Florida State, when you call one of their good teams a team that is coming off a 7-6 campaign, it does not say much for the conference

4th place Big 12 has 30% of the conference as being a bad team and only 10% of the conference being a contender.

5th place PAC 12 has a fake contender and 25% of the conference is a bad team

Good Teams as in competing for the four team playoff

B1G Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin
SEC Alabama, Georgia
Big 12 Oklahoma
PAC 12 Washington
ACC Clemson, Florida State

Wisconsin and Washington play the cupcake schedules

Bad Teams if these schools are on your schedule, you really are not worried about them

B1G Nebraska, Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland
SEC Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi
ACC Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia
Big 12 Kansas, Iowa State, Baylor
PAC 12 Oregon State, California, Colorado

I don’t have the time to check now, but I’d like to see how you compare them side by side.

Ill try and see it
Auburn is mutual so push
Citadel and North Dakota FCS neither is very good so push that

going off records from last season
A&M and Oregon both 7-6
Missouri and ASU both 7-6
Stanford 9-5 LSU 9-4 (stanford extra game due to Pac 12 championship loss)
WSU and Miss St 9-4
UCLA 6-7 and Ole Miss 6-6 (ole Miss bowl ban)

Louisville over Utah 8-5 > 7-6

Colorado over Ark 5-7 >4-8
Cal over Tenn 5-7 >4-8

Oregon State 1-11 from P5 vs Louisiana 5-7 from Sun Belt. honestly right now I would take Louisiana.

I would put BYU 4-9 close to Ark st 7-5 due to 4P5 opponents for BYU while Ark st had 1.

UW has to travel across the country to play Auburn. Bama gets them at home.

And the fact that Bama has 4 road games and doesn't travel more than 550 miles from campus.

Do you actually believe that Miami or VT have a legit chance of making the Playoffs? He kept it pretty slim on all the conferences if you are wanting to put Miami or VT in the playoff hunt. Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa in the B1G; Auburn in the SEC; Ok State and TCU are just as good as VT; easily could add USC and Stanford as well from the PAC. He was consistent with his evaluations.

I do, Michigan St made it a few years ago. Washington made it. etc. Not that I'm putting those teams down, just that you don't have to be considered the cream of the conference to make it.

You are playing them in Atlanta, not Jordan Hare.

Still an advantage for Auburn, but no where near the same thing.

Also, @ people who cite travel distance in football games. Loser excuses.
