How do we handle Tyson Bageant for the rest of the season?

Do we want to see him play? Are we still dedicated to fields until the bitter end? I could see following through on both. I don’t think Bageant is anything special, but it might be worth it to see him play a game or two. I don’t think Fields will turn it around this year, but I also want to give him every opportunity to prove me wrong.

Not that anyone was thinking playoffs (2.5% chance) or even a division title (1.3% chance) after starting 0-3.... but Bagent is on the roster.
And he's not Fields.

Not expecting miracles. But what's the worst that could happen to give him a shot?
We loose a game? (Haven't won in a year.)
We gain less than 250 yards a game? (The Bears' current offensive production.)
We throw more than 1 passing TD per game? (Current average thru 3 games total thus far.)

I dont want to watch the same rerun each week for the next 14 weeks.
We're already the nation's punchline.
May as well try to punch back.

I can understand how you would think Bageant isn’t going to play well, but Fields sucks. Odds are Bageant actually IS better.

The odds of the Bears pulling an undrafted QB out of their ass and seeing success doing it are about the same as me shitting out a Buick.

I'm sure it is. Justiably so based on results. And I'm totally okay with a redo. But it should be the best QB available with our very first pick next April. And it should come with a new coaching staff. Someone along the lines of a Lincoln Riley, or in that mold. Or Jim Harbaugh. Basically...someone that knows what the fuck they are doing.

No. He's among the bottom tier of starters for sure. At least statistically. But there are far worse QBs on other rosters and practice squads.

And the thing is....there might be a chance Bagent could play in the NFL and do well. Can't completely discount it because he does have physical skills.

But he's project. And he needs a lot of work, and coaching, to be ready to face an NFL defense.

Throwing him out there right now would be inhumane and untirely unfair to the kid.

Well Therein lies the rub. If Bagent were to do OK, then Eberflus & co. earn another season. Not sure I like scenario either. But watching lose is killing all of us.

Even if Fields somehow starts to turn it around,Poles wont keep him anyways for fear of him starting ugly again next season.......

Hes had his chance and I fo believe theres a 90% chance hes not here next season......
