I've read many a time on this site and at CBS that MAC coaches are the best options for WVU.

I'm sure there are a number of MAC basketball coaches ready to take over for Huggs. Better sooner... than later...

I wonder if we could talk Ole Doc into coaching the basketball team........
He'd be cheaper than Huggins and No Balls probably could either get a WVU favorable contract or at least get a yearly contract.

Couldn't hurt. Look a Pitts track record with MAC coaches.

Talking about Pitt, did you see where their wrestling coach was fired? Supposedly some of the wrestling team members were feeling lonely at a 2 day match in Indiana and contacted an escort service. The ladies showed up, stole $100 and the young men called 5-0. Turned out the youngsters didn't want to press charges but...too late. Pitt administration caught wind and fired the HC. The HC must not have a good record like Pitrino. The youngsters should have enrolled at Louisville to receive that type of treatment.

I guess we can blame the OU loss on Another since it is blasphemous to blame a future Hall of Fame HC, with over 800 wins that has base, over the past several years, most of his teams on a pressing philosophy in an attempt to generate more offensive opportunities since they cannot hit jump shots let alone hit free throws. Thanks Another even if you didn't make the game.

Don't blame it on me. I almost helped them win the game. Took off my hat for the last OU foul shot at the end of regulation. The sheen off my bald head reflected into his eyes and he missed. Could not stop the last layup though. I'll be there for Kansas too count it as a loss.

BB and Mad, UHHHH your love Luck signed Huggins to an 11 year extension in 2012, so why the hatred? Huggins has actually done something here, we have had a measure of success under him. The style of basketball Huggins plays is hurt at times with matchups, as happened against SFA last year. The constant stream of excuses for Holgorsen and blame on Huggins is laughable.

You really can't comprehend. It's almost embarrassing replying to you. I've been calling out Huggins for at least 3 years now, regardless of how I feel about Huggins or Luck. When I first started to call him out, you were so eager to remind me that he will be a future hall of fame coach. In that same post, you said that I must not like people from West Virginia. Forever the victim.

Remember, Eddie P hired Huggins. A good hire. Luck doubled some, if not all, Huggins incentives, while keeping his contract at a level that was in line with a coach of Huggins caliber. Luck also extended his contract to 2023, but if you would look into the contract, under the agreement, Huggins will assume a five-year Emeritus status with WVU following the sixth year of the contract (2017-18), which would allow him to remain within the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In that role, he would be involved in public relations and development activities along with other duties assigned by the athletic director. Huggins would be allowed to defer his Emeritus status and continue to serve as head coach beyond the 2017-18 season should he and the athletic director reach an agreement to do so. So Luck wanted to stabilize the program long term with a HC that Mountaineer Nation was elated with. Yea, Luck was stupid. Should have placed Huggins on a year to year contract like you say you're on. We may see this with Lyin' Shane Lyons. He has to make the decision soon. Let's see if his yearly contract BS is only for the football staff or across the board. Let's see what he learned. If Huggins gets bounced in the first round of the tourney, what will No Balls do? Can't wait to see. Maybe he should consult you and others and get that hometown discount.

So you are criticizing Luck for taking care of not only a coaching legend but a WVU legend? How typical of you. You call out a 1st time football head coach but can't see, or smart enough to know, that a team cannot be built off of a pressing philosophy sustained over the long term. Your entire offense cannot be based off of the press. These kids dropped a double digit lead yesterday. It happens but to see them struggle from the foul line or have players who can't knock it down from 15 feet year in and year out is sad. Funny how you make excuses for Huggins but continue your bashing of a HC who has grown in his philosophy over the years. Wouldn't you expect that a future HOF HC could figure out potential matchup issues and correct them or are the players he recruits that bad? You know similar to your, and some of your cronies, complaint of Dana's inability to land that big time QB.

Welp, lets just try n make the tourney I guess. Maybe we can make a little noise in March with the right match ups..
Why are you willing to settle? Weren't you and Poppy the ones that started posting on CBS that WVU should have nothing but the best at the coaching positions? Hopefully No Balls will give Huggins a year to year contract which was one of your rallying cry for the hometown discount.

WVU fans deserve better than this crap. Losing to unranked teams every night is pathetic.

Shane has to put some pressure on Bobby to step up his game... big time...

That's just this season, we need to evaluate him later in the year just like we did Dana. Make sure he is earning his keep.

Flashbacks to the time we were on CBS and after the Fiesta Bowl when some fans thought we were elite. Luck looked to a hot shot OC that was being talked about in the college football world. Not one to win the Big 12 in his first year but to map the path to it. Somebody to stabilize the program after the departure of RR and the soon to be dismissed LDHCBS. Little did we now that LDHCBS would loose his composure.

Let's see if No Balls will stand up to Huggy. No Balls has a favorable contract. Will he come out and discuss Huggy's contract with Hoppy and Tony like he did with Dana's? If he does, he didn't learn one thing from his previous bullshit.

No Balls has a favorable contract. Let's see what he does. What is your criteria to keep Huggy? Another first round defeat to a team we should have beat? Sweet 16? Elite 8? Final 4? With contract coming due 2017/2018. I would hope that these discussions and 'milestones' were already discussed in a professional manner with realistic, achievable milestones that could be reached with this team and next years team. But, I doubt it.

Amazing, just simply amazing. There are a couple folk here who need ......something. We have been to the sweet sixteen three times and the final four once under Huggins, the most recent sweet 16 was only two years ago, shut up, just shut up. Making the sweet 16 in basketball is equivalent to being in the four team "playoff" in football, when Holgorsen gets there ONCE I will listen to what you two have to say about one of only ten coaches to EVER win 800 games.....

If we can make the sweet 16 then its a very good job imo because this team is just not great.

Those contracts man, I guess Huggs needed a lifetime contract last time so recruiting would pick up :noidea:

Yea, I'm the one who needs something. You're the jagoff that said we should be elite. Shouldn't our future HOF basketball head coach have us at least contending for 1 NC? He's been here 10 years and made the Final 4 once with Belien's team. So now you will settle for Sweet 16s. What a piece of work. You probably run around saying that at least WVU has a 800+ victory HC. I expected to be competitive in the tourney, not be bounced out in the first round BECAUSE we had a future HOF HC.

There you go again with your dumbass analogies. Maybe bb has been right this whole time about the troll theory. Making the Sweet 16 is like making the Final 4 in football. There is a doozy. I suppose that if you loose the Championship game in football is like making the Final 4 in basketball. Here's one for you - If you're not first, your last. I guess if Saban would come here, you would settle for winning the Big 12 Championship every so often. Your thinking is exactly what got your boy Billy deservedly fired.

Yeah.. my math would be the same...16 does not equal 4...........4 equal's 4! LOL!...Mad I am with you..it is impossible..and its certainly has been proven that you cannot ask a team to press for an entire game for 30 plus contests...you end up with a Stephen F Austin game and you're out!...he's got to find a way to save these kids legs...the foul shot percentage needs to be 15% points better as a group if they plan to make a run in the tourney...

What many fail to see is that our bball team, just like football has a difficult time getting talent to come to wv. Give huggs a few 5 star guys, or a group similar to what Kansas has an I would expect major changes in the way he manages the games.

Huggs reinvented himself a couple of years ago when rules changed that turned great defensive plays into fouls. I thought he was toast. Then he came up with the press and play 10 guys. Sure it wears out legs, including those of the other teams we play. We keep knocking off #1 ranked teams with considerably lesser talent and getting high rankings.

He must be doing something right.
