Kevin Spacey and his corrupt rise from congressman to President, doing whatever it takes to get to the top. I'm trying to not spoil anything.

Read your sentence again, and pretend you have not seen S2.

You spoiled...

Yeah I was thinking that too. You could kind of see where he was angling from the start, though.

Exactly. After the first episode you could tell what his intentions were. Calm down people.

If that comment really spoiled it for you then im sorry. I didn't think stuff I could figure out after the first episode of season one was a spoiler. Besides its much deeper than that.

Minus the little bit of bickering here this is a great series. I just finished season 2 and whoever is writing this deserves a award.

A lot of spin and very entertaining.Season 3 is a long time away unless Netflix gets off there ass and gets it rolling quicker.

I loved season 1 and generally a 2nd is the test if it has the balls to continue, IMO it exceeded my expectations.

Now tell me BF4L, how exactly did it "exceed your expectations"?

Really want to discuss it in here, but I've only finished the first two episodes and I'm worried of spoilers. Best show left on after Breaking Bad and Dexter cancelled. Kevin Spacey's portrayal of Frank Underwood has been masterful and the show is amazingly well scripted.

My only concern is how long will it keep going? The show is dependent on Kevin Spacey and television is still considered 2nd best to movies, how long until Spacey decides to go back to making movies? Luckily a third season has already been renewed. Hoping that Spacey recognizes the great thing he has going here.

Well not to belabor it or maybe I will. Of course it's been obvious that the presidency was a goal since the first episode. But when you give away the fact that he was successful this season I'm guessing that will tend to eliminate the suspense surrounding a few plot points along the way. Just sayin'

I think he'll ride it as far as he can. It's been quite awhile since he's made anywhere near this much of a splash in a movie.

I think he's viewing it almost as an extended movie TBH. It's not like they have to televise every week and keep that schedule and keep ratings and all that. They're doing a season at a time, releasing them all at once, and many are watching the whole thing in 2-3 sittings.

I don't know if it is intended to be long running, though. I wouldn't be shocked if 3-4 is all that is intended.

Amazing acting and the plot lines are awesome. For me generally sequels or season 2's etc are much harder to keep me interested. This one did.

I was using Frank Underwood voice there, if you didn't catch it. ha

My favorites: "After all, we are nothing more or less than we choose to reveal."

Or

"What you're asking is just short of treason."
"Just short? Sounds like politics."

One scene in a season 2 episode stands out in my mind...had to figure out why, today I did.

SCENE:

Inside Frank Underwoods office, having a meeting with Indian leaders concerning a casino issue.

One Indian leader walks in and you see Spacy's character standing in front of a picture of Andrew Jackson on the wall. Indian leader says, "Do we have to do this in front of that?"...meaning the AJ photo. Frank Underwood walks over and takes the AJ picture off the wall and turns it around so you can't see AJ photo.

Mind you it's been forever since I read any history. Damn, Andrew Jackson was one "badass dude". A multiple homicidal maniac responsible for the ethic cleansing of the American Indians located in the Southern States, not to mention the guys he personally killed.

I had to refresh my memory and find out why that Indian leader character wanted nothing to do with picture of AJ.

The attention to details in this show is outfuckingstanding BTW.

I remember that quote. I just finished the 2nd season last night. I have been getting all the people I work with to watch this show. I dig it.

I didn't mean to say he would be successful because I haven't even finished the season. All I meant to say is that was his ultimate goal. I don't even know if he was successful.
