Holy Shit Does John Mayer Suck

Sure, there are definitely some deadheads who are like that, but not all of them. I've always seen it as their music simply just doesn't appeal to some.



Funny, the Brown Eyed Women I saw them play at the Fillmore was one of the songs where Mayer really won me over.
Some of what they're doing, imo, really works. Other things just don't.
The Bobby songs, at least the ones he hasn't slowed down too much (and I mean, they're his songs, he can do with them what he wants), are fine.
The Jerry songs are hit or miss. Some absolutely do work for me (Brown Eyed Women being a great example), while others ... just ... no.



I'll be the first to admit some of them absolutely did suck, at least for the most part. There was a period in '88 where I thought, if I have to hear one more Other One ---> Wharf Rat ---> Throwing Stones ---> Not Fade Away, much less with a Black Muddy River encore, I would scream. Then '89 happened, and that was a very good year.
