Very unusual if true.
Ramirez will likely shift to LF - which will force the Red Sox to make multiple trades with their abundance of ML OFers.
RH Ramirez @ $18m
RH Victorino @ $13m
RH Castillo @ $11m
RH Cespedes @ $10.5m
RH Craig @ $5.5m
RH Nava @ $0.5m
LH Bradley @ $0.5m
RH Betts @ $0.5m
They also have Brock Holt that can back-up. And, Bryce Brentz in AAA, just in case....
Cespedes should be easy to trade - could they also work Victorino into a deal??
They will also need to find another LH bat - but where will they put him?
Some rumors are saying that Boston may try to trade Bogaerts for pitching (Hamels is a name being mentioned).
Also with the panda and hanley signing does that mean they are out of the Lester sweepstakes?
Boston fans, if Seattle can sign Lester.
Would you be open to a Iwakuma for Cespedes trade?

1) It by no means removes them from the Lester sweepstakes. If you recall last July, they purged half of their team... With Sandoval & Ramirez they are only sitting at $152 guaranteed payroll. They have plenty of room for Lester. Then consider they are actively shopping Cespedes and his $10m (and likely another OF under contract), the'll have even more room for even more pitching (See: Miller).
2) If Boston signs Lester, they'll be looking for at least two other starters and your Iwakuma proposal would still interest them. They are both in the final year of their contracts and are relatively cheap.... What minor leaguers would Seattle be willing to throw in the deal?
