It's a fair deal but I would've rather just naturally slid Leier or Cousins into a full time spot next year. Not that this contract is huge but I wanted to save some dollars. I'd also like this a lot more if I confidently knew Raffl would be used in a role that he can play.
A lot has been made about him not scoring obviously, but at least the guy is responsible defensively and can play on virtually any line comfortably. You don't find many players like that at this price, so it's a good signing.
I'm OK with this. I would've liked to see what they could have gotten for him, but 2.3 for 3 years isn't a bad deal. He'd be a good 3rd liner on a good team.
I like Raffl he just tricked me into thinking he was going to score 20+ every year. He's a good two way player that can play on any line and if he ever gets back to 20+ going forward its a great deal
