Kirkman has said he has no interest in exploring the technical details of the disease. This show will end up being more mysterious of them than the original is/was (Kirkman HATED the CDC arc from S1).

I can see why Kirkman hated it, but I disagree with him there. I thought it was very well done and important to the story line.

Just finished watching the second episode. Just some of my random thoughts. Thought it was better but still don't really find the characters all that likable, which is upsetting because I really like the premise of the show. Other than Tobias, the only other character I sort of have any interest in is the father. I see that Principal Obama didn't make it too far into the series. Thankfully tweeker Spencer Reid didn't have nearly as big of a part as he did last week. You'd also think that the sooner you tell the annoying daughter about what happened to the drug dealer and what happened with the Principal, the sooner she'll stop acting stupid, like trying to save the neighbor. But I guess she will be a rebellious teen no matter what, like the guys son is looking to be. Also don't see why they are already taking a hiatus next week unless they figure nobody is going to be watching Labor Day weekend and they can space it out just enough to have it end when The Walking Dead returns for its fall season. It did enough to get me to watch the next episode, so I guess it's doing it's job right now.

I don't like the characters too much yet either. But I trust they will allow these characters to grow.

In S1 of TWD, Carol was no more than a set-piece. Darryl was basically a one-dimensional redneck. Glen had already been digging in a major city for about 6 weeks, but he had established that he was just a slacker pizza delivery guy pre-ZA.

If done right, we will be able to REALLY see how these characters become bad-ass survivalists in the first 2-3 months of a ZA.

Hmm...TWD's tradition of killing off black characters seems to be carrying over.

I thought it all seemed a little too convenient. I liked Jenner's character though, that made it more excusable to me. I think the sickness arc was the worst but that led into the Governor's final arc. Nothing's really terrible in this series, they have bright spots even at their worst.

No conspiracy theory kid this week. Wonder if he'll be in it anymore or if he got written out?

I know I've said this before but I really wish that they had likable characters on this show because I think the premise is great. But right now, the father turned back into an idiot and I can't find anyone else to like other than possibly Daniel Salazar.

That's all I could think about too. Such a random backyard obstacle to have while running from zombies

It's hard to determine right now, who the writers want you to loathe and who they want you to root for?

TWD seemed to differentiate quicker. I disliked Lori and Andrea almost immediately. I'm struggling to like any of em at this point...maybe it's cuz they are still oblivious and so you know it'll just be cheesy horror cliches for the first season? I wanna love it.:noidea:
