I don't know what that dude was thinking rolling with only Culter anyways.

He can score or he can lay a complete egg.

Just have to have a backup.

Not having a back up QB is not a bad move.

Not having a back up and then not acting for more than 24 hours as benching rumors swirl around your one and only is a bad move.

Still though, he ended up with Clausen which might work and out OKAY. He is still favored to win.

Total legit move.

^^^This.

Who hasn't done something similar with running backs when facing an opponent who's RB was just ruled out? If there isn't a specific rule about it, this move is fine by me. I've been caught by someone doing a similar thing to me in previous seasons. It's the price you pay for carrying only 1 QB.

So wait...the guy had 24 hours before this other guy made his move? That changes my opinion. Stupid is as stupid does.

Still kinda a douchey move, but the other guy kinda deserves it. I'd be pretty pissed at myself if I knowingly let a difference between a win and a loss sit there waiting for the guy to make up his mind.

That does lessen it a bit. . And if he ended up with Clausen, then it's fine. Basically his opponent left him an option to not get a zero and that's all I would ask or expect.

The dude's douchy-ness just went from off the charts to slightly below Kramer

I think the other guy's douchy-ness went up a tad for whining about it afterward.

About $1000, bt the title is nowhere near as coveted as this one.

I think its a totally legit move........

I know the MBBRL rules prohibit it, and thats fine

Fantasy football is a game of strategy...........Why if I have the chance to put my team in a better position to win, would i NOT do it? If you have the opportunity to do it, and don't, your abandoning your team, MBBRL rule #1. Your not giving YOUR team the best chance to win. Just my opinion......

There's something to be said for that no doubts. . But for me personally, a victory earned by denying my opponent at least an opportunity to field a full, active team would be extremely hollow and unfullfilling.

But, as this thread played out and we learned he did leave his opponent am out.. that's all I would ask. Limit your opponents options, leave them with what you feel is the worst possible one, yes absolutely. Force them into a zero? No, not for me.

That's not the same thing at all in my mind. This guy guaranteed a zero for his opponent. There aren't 20 other QB's who will play this week. Grabbing Douglas in front of your Julio owner only forces him to go get Andre Holmes, or Charles Johnson, or Jarvis Landry, or any other if a dozen WR's, all of which are absolutely going to play, most of who will catch 3-5 passes if not more. This Cutler owner doesn't even have an option available who will even take a single snap.

I do agree about the dumb/smart parts though, but I still stick to it being an utterly douchebag move, even if it is the smart play and perfectly legal.

OK so I over simplified it. Point is, it was 'legal' given the league rules. Yes, it was a doucy move, but a smart one. I wouldn't have done it - but then again, I'm not playing for $1000 either.

I can see a league where a move like that is totally cool and appreciated - a no-holds-barred league where keeping up-to-date and staying online is part of the game, where the other owner would just raise a glass and say, "you got me; I wasn't fast enough."

But this obviously isn't that league.

And Clausen was still available, right? So the other guy did okay anyway.

Douchey move for sure. But the other guy is a douche for not having a 2nd back up QB.

The douchebagery therefore offsets and the result is no foul.

I think it's a totally legit move. Even if there are only like 5 quarterbacks left to choose from that doesn't mean you can't find a good one. Who would have thought you'd be much better owning Teddy Bridgewater than Peyton Manning the last 4 weeks? Besides, every expert says that once you make the playoffs you should be backing up your irreplaceable players regardless of position instead of holding on to guys that might blow up.

Playing for money with no roster limits. Seems like blaming the commish is the way it should go but its a legit move.
