Actually, folks have always used Sports as a "getaway" from the daily grind/politics/life's issues.
When the sports leader thinks it can influence it's viewers with this bullshit they receive a
large..."Fuck you." from half their audience.

They have a difficult time counting and comprehending. All they had to do was read that
65% of white men in the country voted conservative, and then comprehend that it is realistic
to believe that men make up the bulk of their viewership, and the majority are white men.
At the minimum, you tell your announcers to remain neutral in any discussions about this
stuff, and avoid it whenever possible.
