TO hires:
Solich
Pederson (recommended)
Former Head football coach
Tim Miles
Darin Erstad

Yeah, let's keep asking his approval on athletic hires.

Solich was fine. We would have another Natty by now if he was still here.

Miles was a great hire. Then he went and slept with his hair dresser and lost the team.

Bo and Erstad were simply fan favorite hires. There really is no defending either of those moves.

Peterskin we already discussed. He went off the deepend and nobody saw that coming.

Tom Osborne isn't perfect. Probably doesn't need to be involved in the hiring of the next AD. It will be Rimington anyways, whether TO helps or not.

Rather just let Tom be. Unless he wants the headache the guy has given his life to Nebraska maybe if they would have listened and kept Solich and had Bo stay in his Lane we wouldn't be in this mess

Yes, yes there are.

There is this one guy a "cart pusher" at the Walmart Neighborhood Market just up the street from me. Every time we go into the damn place he just starts gasping and ahhing and trying to talk to you and when you dont respond he starts telling you how hot it is outside and how many bottles of water he has drank. He is definitely a guy with a few wires crossed but yet still "functions" enough - He really reminds me of OD those are the types of people who drink the strangest of kool-aid

The amount of people who responded to that post saying they agree has me concerned for mankind.

The more I drink and the more I think about it, I'm convinced you can't fire Riley this year

I have to agree. I don't think Riley will work out here, but at a minimum he has to be given through next season. We already are becoming a school with "unrealistic" expectations. How are we ever going to bring in a coach if we don't even give him enough leeway to allow the team to be led by his recruits. So then you have to sell a top coach both on the daunting prospect of reviving Nebraska, but he also must do it in 2 years with the existing talent on the roster.... Nobody is going to take that job unless it's someone that wants to retire in 2 years and be paid for the next 7....

Unless we have a Bob Stoops/Chip Kelly-esque hire on deck (spoiler: we don't), you're right. Let this experiment play out and if it's not working by the end of next year, move on.

Other coaches know just as well if a transition is working or not. If you are in year three and not winning games you pay to win than no body is going to find fault.

I'm not saying Riley is any one of those guys. Obviously there are flaws in the current system. That said, there is no downside to letting this play out.
