No doubt about that.
Competition for the DB's should be intense as well.

No doubt! We're going to have some interesting competition in a few places. Should be fun to watch.

Gonna be awesome to have a true workhorse RB on the roster again this year. Appears all the incentives built into that prove it contract could really make the difference for him this year.

--Seattle’s new running back showed off his new look on social media Wednesday, appearing to be trim during a recent, closed offseason workout on the field – and ready for 2017. This, after a 2016 with the Packers lost to an ankle injury.

This could be a $55,000 look for Lacy this month – and potentially a $385,000 one this year.

The one-year, prove-it contract Lacy signed in March with the Seahawks – after a 2016 in Green Bay lost to an ankle injury – is worth $2,865,000 guaranteed plus potentially $2,685,000 in incentives and bonuses. Those bonuses include $55,000 if Lacy weighs in at 255 pounds or less this month, $55,000 more in June and August if he’s 250 or below then, and $55,000 each in September, October, November and December if he weighs 245 pounds or less in those in-season months.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll has said he thinks it will be more realistic for Lacy to play this year in the 240-pound range.

Carroll pointed out size is why Lacy has joined recently injured Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise in Seattle’s backfield.

"I like that we're bringing in a big, tough guy that's gonna send a message the way he plays,” Carroll said in March.

If he can get back to form from a couple of years ago, the running game is going to be tough on opponents.

He looks pretty fit to me. This could be a boon for the offense. And Seattle area China food restaurants.

So power RB first 8 weeks then fattens up to play o-line back half of the season. Best of both worlds.

Eddie Lacy earned 55K today coming in under the weight PC/JS have set. 255lbs was set and he came in at 253lbs. It's a start.

Well, PC said when they signed him that they were looking for him to play somewhere in the 240s, so he sure seems to be on track for that.

I am pumped and jacked about having Lacy on our team.
I expect him to be our #1 back.

Looks like getting out of fatty land aka Wisconsin was exactly what was needed.

He stays in the 240-245 range, and he can really do some damage pounding the rock this year for us. Gonna open up the read-option gamebook again for us. He gets us 800 to 1000 yds this year, and that's going to be a steal considering his pay rate. He's absolutely the lead candidate for the #1 this year.

Rawls can be a change of pace back for us. A #2 or # 3 option. Exactly what role he should be in the NFL.

yep 253 he is down 5 pounds ( rumor ) from when they signed him. His problem is staying under 250 so we still are in weight ( lol ) and see mode. His perfect weight for playing in my eyes is 240 or UNDER. I would like to see a 230-235 Lacy.

I think that is the goal weight PC/JS want him at.

Well Pete says the goal is to get his playing weight somewhere between 245 and 240. Seem pretty modest expectations IMO. Don't think Lacy will have a problem reaching that goal, be nice if he exceeded those expectations IMO. Contract year with tons of incentives, so could happen.

Yeah, the article on 710 website says the weight requirements are 250 for June and August, then it's 245 each month Sep-Dec. This is right in line with what PC said they wanted him at shortly after signing him. Lacy was listed at 231 coming out of college, then got above 250 last year. He weighed 267 earlier this off-season, so he's come down a decent amount already.

Heh. 5-8 pounds on a guy that size is skipping water for a half day, and taking a shit.

His weight could fluctuate most of that every day.
