Yes.. The West was good in the 2000s. There was competitive series. The 90s East was great with competitive series. Bird's Celtics had good competition. Showtime had some weak west competition but they always played a great team in the finals usually. Nothing competitive about EITHER Conference this year.

You didn't have such uneven talent distribution in those days

Duncan Manu, and Parker were all drafted by the same team.

Shaq was a free agent signing and the Lakers traded for Bryant but in neither of those teams situations did players band together to form super teams.

And the Spurs actually played good or even great teams in their conference. I dont remember them playing in a conference finals vs. a team full of ROLE PLAYERS
