i like deferring we arent going to lose because we defer . if we go 3-0 and out and the advantage is lost anyway

more about starting the game with your best unit, at this point, to me. Getting the right mind set, not getting deflated by a potential (and likely) multiple play drive down the field by the opposing team.

doesnt matter if you go 3 and out , you are in the same position and you eliminate the 2 fer at the end of the half

While that is true, deferring hasn't done us any favors lately. Why not change it up once and see.

There has been a lot of criticism about deferring and I don't get it. Last time I checked the second half is more important than the first, I want the ball one more time in the half that matters more. Especially on the road it makes no sense to go against the home team defense with a crowd that is amped at the start of the game. I'd rather face a home defense to start the second half when the crowd is less vocal as many are still in a concession line.

So what if you take the ball at the start, get stopped by a fired up defense fueled by a vocal crowd, then watch the other team march right down and score as most every team seems to do against the Redskins on their first possession? Now you are already in a hole and have to play defense to start the second half.
