I don't remember, but Blocked Kicks are not scored in D1. Only Blocked kicks returned for TDs

Yeah I think blocked kicks are an easy one to add. Also I am definitely down with a poll and I think we have most of the group that still regularly patrols. Ram might be the one that we see the least so we might have to reach out to him individually.

Well, he won 'the whole damn thing' last yr and has the JAC dst - so not much is going to affect it's value. ....

No it will not. I just went in there and changed sacks from 1 point to 5 points. Chicago's D stayed at 143 points for the year.

dont remember what the defensive rules in this league is... all i know is that i disagree with it... but i should probably recuse myself from this debate because if it is up to me we would change more than most of you guys are willing to change... Including either rewarding for a win or penalizing for a loss...

Head coach. I was in a league years ago that had that position +3 points for a win, nothing for a loss.

Looking at our Defensive scoring, I would suggest adding Blocked Kicks for 1 point. Then changing the PTs Allowed to:

0-6 10pts
7-13 7pts
14-17 5 pts
18-27 2 pts
28-34 0 pts
35-45 -2 pts
46 and up -5 pts

That would do away with the getting hit twice for the first touchdown allowed and also bring up each category after that in points.

Keep the rest the same

the other thing... i hate how a defensive TD is 6 points... defensive TDs are impossible to predict...maybe make them 4 since a TO is already 2...

I truley don't get this reasoning, plus, the consensus is pretty much the scoring is already too harsh on D's. If anything, an unpredictable, rare, most often game changing defensive score should be more

I fine with the D scoring as is, but won’t be upset if it gets tweaked. I was once in a league where I out scored my opponent in every position except defense and I lost, now that scoring system was crazy.

I really don't think adding blocked kicks as a category is an answer. If you want to include it that's fine, but I don't think that's ever been worth points in any league I've been in unless they return it for a touchdown. The points against and yards against is what needs to be tweaked because they are both far too penalizing. Perhaps the first poll should be just a yes or no on whether we should tweak the defensive scoring. If yes wins maybe the 2nd poll should just be something as simple as "Should we eliminate -10 points as an option from the defensive points against and the defensive yards allowed stat?" Once those two things have been decided, coming up with a few options on what range of points in each of those categories should be a lot easier.
