And the cold water had to be thrown in there!Using ten win seasons as a measurement is not apples to apples, teams play 13 games a year now, including the bowl game, there were some pretty good teams in our past that only PLAYED nine games.
No, truth needed spoken, doesn't ten wins mean more playing ten games than 13????? AND it is pretty hard to win 10 playing 9, winning ten today is like winning 9 20 years ago, like winning 7 40 years ago. The constant attempt to belittle the past is ridiculous, WVU has had ONE undefeated season, 1922 when we went 10-0-1, and the 10-1 season in 1969, the 11-1 in 1988, 1993 and 2005 were our best record %wise. WVU has had a great year, a year to be proud of, a year beyond anyone's expectations, but we don't need to belittle the 8 and 9 win teams of the past to celebrate today's accomplishments. And the cold water had to be thrown in there!
The three coaches listed in the thread consistently played 12 games.....
DUH, as I pointed out, the PAST, 9 or 10 games was the norm, 11 games became normal in 1969, before that, there were seasons with 8,9,and 10 games, Nehlen routinely played 11 games, BTW, 12 games became the norm in the early 2000s. How about someone looks something up before just trying to pour piss on dad.The three coaches listed in the thread consistently played 12 games.....
UH, pretty damn easy, we are giving recent coaches props for winning ten games in a 13 game season, saying ten wins is a measure of success, until 1969 there were only nine or ten game seasons, not a good measuring stick.. If you want to give kudos, use winning percentage. 9/10 is a better season than 10/13, get it now????I still haven't figured out Poppy Math.

I was making the point that it is impossible to win ten games while only playing 9......the very reason that using ten win seasons as a measuring stick is not the way to go.I guess the 2nd sentence threw me off. "AND it is pretty hard to win 10 playing 9...". I wasn't sure how you could win 10 games when you only play 9, but that's just me.

in 2011, he won ten games in 13...........if youd THINK, rather than just blindly attacking..........sad manHard to keep up. Dana won 10 games in a 12 game season... yet he keeps talking about 13 games...
