Ole Miss is my number 2 team, and as much as I'd love to see them beat Bama, I don't think they will. It will be a close game though and I do think Ole Miss is a legit top 20 team.

I'm not sold on the cowbells yet though.

Miss St. is going to give A&M a game. Before this past weekend I might've said that A&M would walk off with this one, but A&M looked very beatable vs Arkansas, while Miss st. was able to go into death valley last week and get a dominating win.

Ole Miss on the other hand, I think I saw somewhere that they were giving up 2 sacks a game, they don't have a running game, and they can't seem to stop the run. So if we are able to effect Bo with our pass rush and shut down their already not-so-good running game, while sprinkling on some Yeldon and Henry, with a little dab of Drake and Cooper...we have the potential to blow this one out again.

However, Ole Miss has this game at home, and I'm pretty sure Bama is one of the teams circled on their schedule. These types of games can be scary, because we've all seen more talented teams travel into hostile environments and get beat.

Hold them up to the light with say....BYU's record and opponents, and I think you may agree that Ole Miss is getting some sort of unknown bump.

UConn 35-10---same team Boise beat by 17...who did Boise lose to by 22?

Texas 41-7...actually two td's better than last year. I think this BYU team is better, but I also thing this Miss team is better than the team that beat Texas last year 44-23...Texas just sucks.

Houston 33-25...this isn't last year's Houston, they are 2-2 and UTSA beat them by 20

Virginia...is Virginia...better than last year's 2-10 team that beat them though.

I would say BYU is ranked about where they deserve.

That being said, Ole Miss is getting too much credit for beating Boise and Vandy handily...both of those programs are heading in the wrong direction. But that is standard OP for early polls. Luckily these things have a way of self-correcting and we will help Ole Miss along their rightful path down where BYU is on Saturday.

I don't get too serious about any of it, just presenting a totally unbiased observation based on widely held perceptions. Something most pollsters don't take the time to do apparently. These polls mean nothing now except to provide us fans something to bitch about.

Probably no more so than voters are propping up Nebraska...If not for the McNeese I think Nebraska would probably be sniffing the Top 10, and they don't have any better wins than Ole Miss.
