I was just thinking about FA stuff, and it occurred to me that I'm not stressed or worried about what happens anymore. Sure I want Brady to win another, and for The Pats to always make a push, but it all feels like icing on the cake from here on out. Just a thought. It's a pretty great place to be as a fan.

Yup, happy as a clam at high tide.
I know the team may lose some people I like but I accept that as part of the game now.
In Bill I trust. And a LOL for him at the combine wearing his 7 rings sweatshirt.

I try not to get too attached to any single player as the Patriots have proven they can plug the holes up pretty well. That being said I am hopeful they can continue to balance the right now with the future and keep themselves in a position to remain competitive for the forseeable future.

Nope NE should have 7 rings, effing G-men.
Loving where they are at though. 8 picks, lots of cap, just signed Allen to replace Bennett...

I hear you, but I was always more mad about the 2005 loss to the Broncos. The BS pass interference call on Samuel right before halftime that gave Den the ball on the 1 yard line, the missed call after the Ben Watson run down of Bailey which should have been a touchback, etc. NE had some fumbles and Brady threw 2 picks, but I think the refs helped out Denver just enough to keep me pissed for a long time. :gaah: < SEE?!??

You can't have it both ways if you add in two for the Giants' wins you need to subtract the last two where the pats robbed victories from what the whole world had chalked up as defeats...

Stop deflating my dreams.NE deserved to win 3 out of those 4. I'll let you guess which one they should've lost.

If Bill Parcels were dead he'd be rolling in his grave with a statement like that....

I still remember like it were yesterday when asked if his team were better that their record... You are what your record says you are.... Put another way, If you win, you deserved it, if you lost... You didn't...

To answer the original question... I'm quite satisfied. I seem to be in the minority in thinking you don't need a championship to have a successful year. It's kinda like the Olympics... Silver is pretty good too and the Pats have a ton of silvers and bronzes to go with their many golds...

Nope once you set the standard it's gold or bust. The Pats go into every season with the attitude it's SB or bust. No one remembers who comes in second. Winning is everything unless your the Colts they pride themselve's in being runners up.

I'm with you. Never thought they would win one, never mind five.
I get stressed out every game every year, especially a month ago.
Until I remind myself to appreciate the good fortune we Pats fans have had.
Then I'm warm and fuzzy.

All indications appear to be that Donte Hightower and the Patriots have just about completed a contract that will keep Hightower in a Patriots uniform for the next few years. Nothing in concrete and nothing official but Albert Breer and others are starting to tweet that other teams feel that HT will be a Patriot and have backed off attempting to sign him.

If the above is true, then can we hope that BB will try to sign Malcolm Butler to a contract for at least the next 3 years. If Butler wants Gilmore money, I don't think Bill will give him anything close. I'm thinking he might offer him 3 years $24M in increasing salary. $6M, $8M, $10M and guarantee $12M. Considering that he hasn't gotten any offer from other teams, this would be a decent contract. With Gilmore and Rowe, Butler would be the slot CB and not chasing guys much bigger than him. What do I know..??

I'm extremely happy that I'm not where I've been the past few years waiting around on Day 4 wondering if BB is going to do anything at all. For once I'm wondering....."What the hell is he gonna do next?"
