Bingo!
Splitting the state is a stupid thing to do when you can get the majority of the state twice.
Simple math.

On a per capita scale. Alabama appears to have the highest percentage of college football fans. One can assume that transfers to viewership. View attachment 227292
"Alabama has the highest concentration of college football fans."
"Almost 34 percent of Alabama Facebook users were fans of a college football team, more than five percentage points higher than in the state with the next-highest level."
The Places in America Where College Football Means the Most
Proving once again that.......Nobody underachieves like tejas. NOBODY!!!
.
I'd still wager Atlanta had more viewers.
Sure.
What do you want to wager, 1 week Avy or vCash?
.
You are wagering that in total viewership Atlanta has less viewers than a market in Alabama?
I'm wagering there are more college football viewers in the state of Alabama than there are in the city of Atlanta.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in that. If you want to compare the states of Georgia vs Alabama I'll take that one. I brought up Atlanta after someone said Birmingham was the #1 market.
The point is that Alabama, while a football crazy state, simply doesn't have enough population for the networks to really care too much about.
Du fuq you arguing with my post for then?
You had quoted my post for some reason.
Which is also the state that brings in the highest viewership ratings for college football than any other in the country.
The ratings may have been better in terms of percentage...but I'd bet far more people in Atlanta watched the game.
Got any figures to back that up?
In total number or percentage? I find it extremely hard to believe that the 107th largest city in the nation from a population standpoint has more total viewers than any other city. Percentage-wise means nothing in the context of this discussion.Birmingham has been the top rated local market for like 18 years straight.
The metro area is a lot higher than 107th.In total number or percentage? I find it extremely hard to believe that the 107th largest city in the nation from a population standpoint has more total viewers than any other city. Percentage-wise means nothing in the context of this discussion.
Ok, so Texas has over twice the amount of college football fans than AlabamaGoogle is your friend..

It's the 49th highest metro area at just over 1.1m people. Still not a chance. The metro area is a lot higher than 107th.
That said, I doubt it makes a huge difference in the grand scheme.
