Might be a boost for Boyd's confidence, complete game shutout doesn't hurt.

And frankly, that pitch was fine, just a solid piece of hitting....though as soon as I saw the ball going to RF I said, oh shit....I haven't watched much of Castellanos in the outfield, but I fully expect him to suck out there.

I don't know if it was Castellanos himself or if a coach positioned him that way, but it seemed he was playing rather shallow.

No matter, GREAT outing for Boyd, and I hope it bodes well for the future. That's actually 3 good starts in a row. He will still have the occasional clunker as a starter, because he depends so much on location. Given the Tigers choices, I fully expect him to be in the rotation next season.

Before you read this next post, remind yourself that I am a shameless homer who only sees possibilities.

He is still a relatively young pitcher (26 years old), if he gets it together along with Norris and Fulmer, the Tigers can compete next year.

I thought the Twins were going to suck, but they're probably going to get a Wild Card spot. We do need a new manager and coaching staff. The Tigers have made too many foolish mistakes this year - BACK TO THE BASICS.

Yes...and IF Castellanos wins the MVP and IF Iglesias wins the batting title and IF Shane Greene saves 50 games.....and IF we find out that Miggy Cabrera is NOT 45 years old...........

Horrible in left. No reason to expect otherwise in right.

I'd rather they realize Boyd is a reliever. Starts like his last two don't help speed up that process.

Not sure if sarcasm honestly...

I'll assume not, I think he still is a starter, but the transition to relief isn't nearly as hard as stretching out a reliever to be a starter.

I don't want to rain on his parade too much.

We have five more years of control. And I'm cool with that.

Well, I feel pretty confident that Boyd can beat out the likes of Buck Farmer next season. SMH

Tigers have ten shots to win that 63rd game. Seven of those games are against the Twins who are battling for a Wild Card spot.

ANOTHER LOST SEASON. This team Stinks from top to bottom and might be that way for quite a few years.
Is Lance Parrish ready to take over. Assmus and his "crew" need to go.

Angels & Rangers fans have to be thrilled that the Twins have all these cakewalk games to end the season.

Our true hope for next year resides with the Twins ... everyone thought they were a lock for last place and the Twins served up a big old shitburger to all the experts.

The Tigers gambled on an inexperienced manager and a very expensive team. I think Ausmus will be a good manager for the right team, it was a bad choice for the Tigers. Hindsight is always 20/20. Good Luck, Brad.

Should've fired his ass BEFORE trading away all of their talent.

Players win games...not managers.

AJ Hinch was called the WORST manager in baseball when he was with the D'Backs a few years ago. Now he has a good shot at a WS ride and Mgr of the Year with Houston. Why? Better players!

You can put Casey Stengel and Jesus H. Christ on the Tigers' bench next year - they will still lose 100 games.

Interesting games today. Tigers lose and White Sox win Detroit has sole possession of last place in AL.

Tigers lose and White Sox and Phillies win - Tigers move into #2 spot in 2018 draft.

Shoutouts to the Tigers laying it down doing a reverse Cleveland. Gunning for that number 1 pick.
