The NFL says the Giants never filed a formal complaint with the league office over allegations that the Steelers deflated footballs during a 24-14 Steelers win in Week 13 in Pittsburgh.

But Fox's Jay Glazer reported earlier Sunday that the Giants did report the Steelers to the NFL for allegedly deflating footballs.

Essentially, the Giants got a hold of two footballs being used in the games and checked them out on the sideline, where they came in under the normal PSI weight expected and required for NFL play.

"Last week the New York Giants got suspicious of the Pittsburgh Steelers during their game so after two takeaways from the Steelers, the Giants actually tested two of the footballs on the sidelines to see if in fact they were, dare I used the d-word, deflated," Glazer said. "Two of the balls came in under [the PSI weight], so they sent them in to the National Football League. Still waiting on a response from the NFL."

Rothlesberger should be suspended for 8 games. The Steelers should lose their next 2 first round picks. And the Steelers should be fined $2,000,000.......right???

Go figure a Pats fan would post this. This is a big to-do about nothing, but I doubt this goes away immediately. But the NFL & the Giants have already denied these reports.

Per the NFL:

"The officiating game ball procedures were followed and there were no chain of command issues," the NFL said in a statement Sunday. "All footballs were in compliance and no formal complaint was filed by the Giants with our office."

Per Giants official:

"We did not file a complaint"

As a Pats fan I contest this is not an issue for the NFL take action on. Why?
1. It did not involve the Patriots
2. Everyone knows that cold weather causes ball to deflate (except winter games involving the Pats)

Yeah, you just cant make this crap up. (and remember the discovery of the Packers over inflated balls.....oh yeah, also swept under)

Per Giants official:

Denying filing a formal complaint, not denying that the balls were 11.8 and 11.4 respectively.

It's just further proof that the PSI was never an issue with the league.

Dirt, just be glad the Giants aren't cry-babies like the Ravens and Colts.

I got a feeling BB wouldn't report anything either.

The person who posted this was acting like it was a new development. It's already been investigated &resolved,

Again, it's about the hypocrisy of it all. The league, and many posters, acted as though a few whisps of air had any effect on the outcome of a game, combined with the league not realizing that it's normal for the balls to lose pressure when it's cold out.

Nobody gives a fuck/ There is no benefit for a team to have deflated balls, Sure the RB can hold it better but it wobbles for the QB
