I think the Brasky fan misunderstood my point. You guys will probably have Mike Riley(A mediocre ass coach) for a long time. So let's be honest here. Do you really want to make fun of the fact that Harbaugh could leave, when you have a mediocre coach for a long time?
Why do you want to make this about Riley so bad. Don't understand but oh well. If we are talking about longevity, we have no worries. This is a destination job for Riley.
If we are talking about coaching caliber? We are year two with a square qb in a round hole, looking at a 10-2, possibly 9-3 season using second string qb in two of the wins and possibly a 3rd string this week.

Recruiting? Hired in December of 2015 and saves the 2016 class. This year, 2017 class currently ranked 25th nationally, 4th in B1G and still several 4 stars with high interest to likely bring that final number to the low teens nationally. Then with his reputation of developing players. I think we will do just fine with this "mediocre coach".

Good luck with your search.

NO this thread is about Shaw showing up where there is a vacancy. Read the OP again.
He is one of the people I hope comes to Michigan if Harbaugh were to ever leave.
First sentence of your OP. You not only state you would like Shaw to come to Michigan but also state the issue of Harbaugh possibly leaving.
Why do you try so hard to derail your own thread?

I'm not derailing shit. There obviously isn't a coaching vacancy here. The chances are increasing that Harbaugh wants to stay at Michigan for a long time. Does that mean he is going to be a great coach guaranteed for a long time? No. I mainly made that comment because anything is possible and Harbaugh could leave. That's not the main point of this discussion. Texas for instance could lose out on Herman and Shaw is a possibility. You made the focus of this thread about Harbaugh bolting, not me.

I don't see him leaving Stanford honestly.

He is one of the people I hope comes to Michigan if Harbaugh were to ever leave. With all these possible coaching vacancies, do you think he's on the market? Personally he has so many ties to the NFL, I feel like he's another Harbaugh in that he either coaches his Alma Mater(Stanford) or the NFL. But he could be a hell of a candidate.

Shaw is a Stanford alum and seems to like it there. I don't think he's ever going to leave

Harbaugh leave? Are there rumors or is this just a what if scenario?

That's the thing though. I'm not sure ADs trust him to stay long term due to his NFL ties. He is currently at the school he graduated from so there is a reason he hasn't bolted them yet. Along with the fact that Stanford is still a top Pac 12 program getting good recruiting classes.

The only way I see him leaving there is for an NFL gig. He has a good thing there.

I find it odd when people say Riley is a mediocre coach. He did a phenomenal job at Oregon State (wasn't exactly a powerhouse when he took over) and did a reasonably good job there before his tenure ran out. He has done a pretty solid job with Nebraska so far imo.

I would need to believe he can win big games (playoffs) and recruit at a big time program. I am unsure of either of those.
