I dunno about putrid. They're averaging 30 ppg over their last 5, and that includes the inexplicable stinker against Purdue.

Meh, still gonna say bad - they've played some of the worst teams in the big ten. They just aren't that good.

I guess if you're going to go with the 247 composite rankings?

I've referred to Rivals for a while and will continue to do so until another site provides better rankings. 247 seems to just take most of their stuff from other sites.

Composite is the average of all the sites, so clearly they are borrowing. Hand is 4 in composite, not 5. I use composite, because it is the consensus.

Oh come on man. This is a good thread. He's one of the biggest names in recruiting and this should generate some good conversation.

I guess. But people been talking about it for awhile already is why I posted the link.

Meh, anything that averages in ESPN is a no-go for me. They also average in their own 247 rankings - and they simply haven't been around long enough to build up a reputation for being correct yet.

So, I just go with Rivals. But really, it's semantics within the top 5, probably even top 10, anyway.

I wouldn't, have you seen what is happening at Michigan the last two weeks? All this happened to time up nicely with his visit to Alabama. He hasn't been at Michigan since the ND game.

Yeah, I caught some of that internet chatter last week. Aren't 4-5 youngsters transferring out claiming they were lied to as recruits?

No, that "rumor" comes from Ace Williams - a 16 year old kid who uses a fake picture of a model as his own and has a blog, who has absolutely no inside information. But it caught on with the twitter world and got spread like a wild fire; despite it being complete BS. I don't think it would have gotten anywhere had Michigan been doing well.

Well that's good then. Miyagi have a hope for Michigan. Beat Ohio State.

He will probably start in at least some defensive packages as a true freshman wherever he goes. His speed off the ball is NFL speed.

Speed is one thing. He's still a kid. But I don't deny he would see a lot of playing time at UM. They need all the help they can get. Bama on the other hand, he probably wouldn't get on the field in competitive situations much next season.

From what I've heard football is not his #1 priority.

From Tim Sullivan - the Michigan insider on Rivals:

Q: Percentage odds for the two (or three) contenders?

A: Florida very close to zero (depends on how many sig figs you want to go to) without hitting the mark. Michigan over 50%. Alabama gets the rest.

^^^ this is what I've heard as well, and it's a problem sometimes on the field when it comes to consistent effort and "heart".

I wonder why he wasn't recruited more by Stanford? I think maybe they dropped the ball here.
