Da'Shawn hand open thread

The nations #1 prospect makes his decision today and it's basically down to Alabama and Michigan; despite his visit to Florida.

I'm hoping we can get him - as we are the long time favorite - however, it's Alabama. And if I were #1 prospect right now, I'd have a hard time picking Michigan over Alabama. A lot has changed at Michigan since his last visit here so I wouldn't be shocked to see him sign elsewhere. However, he has maintained that academics are important to him - so that's our saving grace here. If he is truly picking a school for their academic quality, I'm glad we're up against Alabama and not a USC or Stanford.

Plus, us Michigan fans need something to go our way.

I figured the #1 player in the country committing today was worthy of it's own thread. It's not just some random recruiting news to post.

Though, this one post may clutter up the 4 other active posts on the board and make it completely unreadable and hard to navigate around since there are so many other CFB related things happening today...../sarcasm

Oh come on man. This is a good thread. He's one of the biggest names in recruiting and this should generate some good conversation.

That may be true. Though, Michigan State seems to be doing well with a putrid offense and an elite defense. That's basically the only thing we can hope to achieve at this point with Borges as our OC.

I think the decision was been made a while ago, but who knows with these recruits. He set the decision date prior to visiting Florida or Alabama.

I wouldn't, have you seen what is happening at Michigan the last two weeks? All this happened to time up nicely with his visit to Alabama. He hasn't been at Michigan since the ND game.

I've referred to Rivals for a while and will continue to do so until another site provides better rankings. 247 seems to just take most of their stuff from other sites.

I dunno about putrid. They're averaging 30 ppg over their last 5, and that includes the inexplicable stinker against Purdue.

He will probably start in at least some defensive packages as a true freshman wherever he goes. His speed off the ball is NFL speed.
