oh well im over it enough now to post at least.......now on to the off-season.......if the rangers managed this i would be a little happier..... 1st off i want them to get fielder(157,158,159,162,161,162...games played since 06) see that guys thats a bat in your line-up for the whole season not 100 games or 120 games like some of our guys have a history of....now the way i see it then we can have prince/young/napoli all play a little 1st/dh and stay fresh....this also opens up mitch to trade for pitching....then we sign cj(reasonable price) and one of the many closers available this off-season(if we move feliz we got another closer/if it doesnt work out then we have feliz/FA closer/adams for the 7th,8th,9th) and fill in the roster as needed......signing prince/cj/closer gives us a ton of flexiblity for trades if needed and creates a good amount of depth.........1.ian 2. young 3.hamilton 4.prince 5. beltre 6.cruz 7.napoli 8. martin/gentry/??? 9. elvis(keeps him and ian b2b to steal and keep pressure on opponents).......with moreland/murphy/torrealba(or other catcher) and whoever else on bench....looks like a solid team ;)

if the Rangers seriously pursue someone to fill the 1st base position in my book it has to be Pujols. Prince is a worse fielder than Moreland and Young

only in your dreams. both will pull approximately the same money but pujols is the better fielder

Pujols hit .295 against lefties and .300 against right handed pitchers and Fielder hit .282 against lefties and .306 against righties. Pujols hit .321 at home and .279 on the road, Fielder hit .326 at home and .272 on the road.

either would be a positive i just like Pujols better. Fielder doesn't hit me as the kind of team player that this team is built around.

if i read things right the Brewers don't seem to be too bother by Fielder leaving. that makes me think he's not the kind of player you want on this team even with his bat.

player A----228 HR ,646 RBI , .931 OPS , 81 GDP

PLAYER B----244 HR , 708 RBI , 1.038 OPS , 138 GDP

stats since 2006 when both were full time players....one of these guys is a 27 year old with his weak seasons added in one of these players is the most feared hitter in his generation and will turn 32 next year

either would be good for this team offensively but i'd take the 32 year old because he's better defensively

Signing either guy will push the payroll into the 150 + range. Right? Not a problem if they are planning on letting Hamilton walk when his current deal runs out. Also not a problem if they don't plan on re-signing Wilson.

Personally, I think Pujols is the best player and both would kill it here. However, they set up the park to take advantage of Raffy's power stroke which incidentally would also benefit Fielder. I think Fielder would just crush it in this park. With this lineup and in this park he might hit 50+ home runs and drive in 150. Yeah, he isn't in the greatest shape and probably never will be but the guy is an absolute beast. He'll be great for the next 5 years no problem.

I say go and get Fielder.
