They can't investigate something that has no substance behind it.
Beebe used the media to run his smear campaign as is obvious that he was completely available by phone the evening of the Colorado game. Dan Beebe is rarely ever available to the media.

Beebe is trying to save face with a distraction from his poor performance as league commissioner. His conference is a mess from his poor decision making. The Big XII bowl structure stinks compared to the Big 10 and SEC. He's stuck now. He's got no choice but to continue cowtowing to mighty Texas. They own him like never before.
