They lost their lead-off man in Fowler, and Schwarber failed miserably as his replacement (as evident by him now being a AAA ball player). Nobody has been able to step in and fill the void.

Rizzo only slotted up there because so many guys have been on the DL for the Cubs this season. It was never going to be permanent. They need him up there with RBI opportunities.

Perhaps they get a leadoff man at the deadline? :noidea:

Yeah I did forget about Fowler... Not sure why I did though. Well, Schwarber has been called back up so we shall see how it goes. Who's available?

Rumors say Cubs and Giants are talking about Span.

Trea Turner is a guy who has the best chance to be in the same stratosphere as Henderson. Billy Hamilton too, if he could figure it out at the plate.

he has an exciting skill set, but he has a career .344 OBP (.324 this year). Henderson had a career .401 OBP (with over 13000 PA) to go along with all those steals and some pretty decent power numbers. Turner looks to be a damn good player, but I wouldn't call him a great leadoff hitter.

George Springer has been batting leadoff all year. He's hitting .300/.374/.594 with 25 home runs, 70 runs scored and a 163 OPS+. He's on pace for 133 runs scored and he could become one of the few leadoff hitters with 100+ RBIs (he's at 55).
