ESPN just did a "special" on the espn ap where it is showing that he is hitting a homer for every 3.3 ABs as a lead-off hitter and has scored (4) runs which is as many outs he's made during his lead-off streak.

well if you're ESPN he'll surpass those numbers this year (with the obvious exception of playing years)...

Most annoying player in baseball history ... and I say that with immense respect!!!
Won't argue that. But it takes a special personality type to carry off the 3rd-person speaking style as long as he did.

He may be one of the best but I doubt he'll ever be the best like Henderson is.

A move up in the line-up has simply coincided with some normalizing in his numbers, by him busting out of a funk and going on a much awaited power surge.

They will once again normalize, in the term of regression. He didn't magically become the greatest hitter of all-time.

Trea Turner is a guy who has the best chance to be in the same stratosphere as Henderson. Billy Hamilton too, if he could figure it out at the plate.

again this is ESPN we are talking about.... One day you're a god because you hit for the cycle but the next day when you get the golden sombrero you are dead to them

Back to the three hole.

I play daily fantasy baseball just about every day, so I pay very close attentions to lineups. It's hilarious how much the Cubs lineup moves around. Maddon trying anything. Contreras hit lead-off today. Russell hit clean-up in Cincy, and is now down in the 8 hole. Zobrist now hitting clean-up. Bryant up to the 2-hole. Even Montero hit clean-up a few times.

Maddon's line-up card is a god damn merry-go-round. I suppose when you're struggling, you keep throwing stuff out there until something sticks though.

why does Maddon do it? I mean it works and then he tinkers with it once again? Granted I never saw him as a lead-off guy

They lost their lead-off man in Fowler, and Schwarber failed miserably as his replacement (as evident by him now being a AAA ball player). Nobody has been able to step in and fill the void.

Rizzo only slotted up there because so many guys have been on the DL for the Cubs this season. It was never going to be permanent. They need him up there with RBI opportunities.

Perhaps they get a leadoff man at the deadline? :noidea:
