My 2012 Toshiba laptop computer won't turn on or it will turn on but then it turns off again in a split second. Yesterday my computer kept going into safe mode and I'm not sure if this has something to do with it or not. This laptop has never had a problem before. Does anyone know the problem is?

Sounds like a corrupted hard drive... Since it's a 2012 I doubt defragmentation would have helped, but just curious, when was the last time you defragged your hard drive?

Also, does it turn on when plugged in to a power source (charger connected)?

You're going to need to give a lot more than that for anyone to make much of an intelligent guess.

Easy advice, bring it to the geek squad or any other computer fixing place... If the computer is not starting, and the problem is not the charger/battery, then that means you are going to have to do some taking apart to fix the computer...

:10:

I literally just chuckled in a meeting. It isn't a funny meeting, got some odd looks.

I have come up with a new drinking game for myself on this site...ANY reference to that thread or what's therein...a shot and a beerback for me...should stay "well pickled" thruout my days.

As for the bold above...STAY FOCUSED!

Check the hard drive coolant level first.
Then pull the ram dipstick and check the lubricant on that next.

If all that is all right then check the air pressure on the monitor.

You have a virus. You need to boot from safe mode with networking and download malwarebytes. If it doesn't allow you to do that you need to run malwarebytes from an external drive to clean up the mess.
