I watched most of the Northwestern-Stanford game. I usually am glad the Pac-10 loses. Many of the games today are just not interesting because they are so one sided. I will watch the Wisconsin-Alabama game tonight at times. And I am with you on my feelings about Notre Dame. That comes from my childhood of hating them, the Yankees, the Packers and the Celtics. I was always for the underdogs.

Planning to be in norman by 5:00. Game starts at 6:00. Definitely gonna be a full house. Wanted to leave about 30 minutes earlier but the wifey took her sweet time getting all dolled up.

How do your vols look?

Not great, by any stretch......Quite concerning from a defensive standpoint.

Offensively, O-lined looked better, but then again they damn near couldn't have been much worse. Last year they were one of the worst in the country. We're good at QB and excellent at all the skill positions. Loaded actually.

But our D-line, which going in I thought would be a strong suit, had damn near no-impact, which in turn exposed our DBs some.

This game didn't bolster my confidence for next week at all.

Did for me. They played an opponent that plays a good calibre of FB. Was a good test for the Vols unlike so many mismatches i.e. Fla. State. Much will be learned this week and they will show up next week.

A&M looked vastly improved on defense last night at all levels, especially the D-Line

Allen struggled early on but looked sharp in the 4th quarter

Offensive line is definitely not as strong as in years past

Kyler Murray looked solid til he got hurt, that kid is quick and fast, just really tiny

Tra Carson is a beast

Christian Kirk looks like a special one

If the D-line can show up, then the DB's will show better. But the jury is out, WAY OUT, on how the O-line will contribute next Sat.

Still optimistic and will probably be talking crap in 24/48 hours though. ha ha ha
