My guess.. from high profile program, or someone who coached at a high profile program last year.

Look at the recent hiring history...
Loeffler = Auburn (SEC)
Grimes = Auburn (SEC)
Moorehead = Stanford (P12)
Searels = Texas (B12)

Would obviously have to be someone who is currently out of a job.....someone who recently got fired, right?

Ronald Curry has mentioned, but would he hold any weight recruiting outside of the 757?

He has a ton of name recognition in North Carolina, and to some degree nationally. He was the #1 HS prospect in not only football, but basketball.

That being said, from what I've read on 247, we're not hiring Curry. Or ODU's coach. Or Joker Phillips.

Beamer mentioned they always have a running list of coaching candidates. So how the heck would any of the guys above make the list? At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if Beamer had some GA at Murray State #1 on his list.

Some seem to be underwhelmed, but I like Burden's short resume. I especially like what I have read about his recruiting relationships and ties to 757 and GA. I think either he or Curry would be good hires. VT will reportedly interview 2 or 3 guys, any scoop on the other ones? Are the other names just wish list/speculation or is there something to it?

What about ECU's WR coach?....or was he the one recently promoted to OC?

So this whole hiring a WR coach thing has been dragging out.

Apparently we interviewed 3 coaches late last week.
1. Burden
2. Dugans from USF (If the name sounds familiar, he caught two TD's against us in the 2000 Sugar Bowl)
3. ???

Not sure who #3 is but the buzz has been mostly about veteran coaches Darryl Wyatt (formerly of Texas) and Tony Ball, (Georgia, former VT coach)

Those all sounds like decent names. Dugans coached WR's for 4 years at Louisville under Strong.....Louisville has always gotten good performance from their WR's. Not sure about who Wyatt has coached, but he's been a WR coach at a lot of big name schools.

Which one of these guys would be the best recruiter?....that seems to be the most important factor.

From what I've read Wyatt and Dugans seem to be very good recruiters. Burden has potential and could be very good as well at this level. Ball seems to be a horrible recruiter.

It's still rumored that Burden is the guy. Also rumored that Beamer is waiting until after signing day as a favor to ODU because 11 of ODU's recruits are Burden's guys. That sounds like a "Beamer move", but I think it is made up.
