This game has same kind of feel to me as going to Oklahoma 3 years ago. Notre Dame ranked higher, probably the underdog, and the media saying ND's record is a direct result of playing terrible teams. Everyone on the game day panel will pick Clemson to win.

keys to victory in my opinion.
1. Run Run Run Run the damn ball
2. Contain Clemson's QB
3. Kizer manages game and makes zero critical mistakes.
4. Irish Secondary must play a hell of a lot better and I mean 10 times better
5. VanGorder does not go blitz crazy because it ain't going to work. It is okay to play coverage once in a while on 3rd and short or even 3rd and long.

Side notes: I expect Wimbush to play a few series during the game and I expect Notre Dame to run the ball successfully while eating lots of clock.

Not worried too much on offense as long as Kelly doesn't try to get cute and put too much of the game on Kizer's shoulders. Just let him manage the damn game and don't get too tricky on the kid making him do things he might not be comfortable with just so Coach can make a 'splash'.

D is my worry. For the love of all that's holy ... can Van Gorder please get a full 60 mins outta these guys. The talent is there ... have them freakin ready!

I understand your feelings on letting Kizer manage the game, but my concern is the Clemson D. They lost a lot of guys to the NFL off the #1 defense in the country last year, but after 3 weeks, they still rank #9 in the FBS in total defense, and their team is just learning to play together. I know they havent played anyone good, but 260 ypg isn't a lot to give up against anyone.

Their offense is ranked 46th in the FBS, against this same group of teams. So while I am always concerned with our D, I'm hoping that our poor performance against UMass was a result of Van Gorder concentrating their planning on Clemson, the same way that I attribute the poor performance against Virginia to our efforts planning against Ga. tech. (this logic helps me sleep at night)

Not a good idea to play Wimbush in this environment.

Game Plan:
1)Run the ball and Run it hard.
2) I agree contain Clemson QB
3)Win the turnover battle. Kizer needs to manage this game. We are not going to score on every drive. have to be smart.
4)Defense needs to step up especially the Secondary. Very disappointed in this group so far.
5)Special teams will be big in this game.
