Almost made it a year without it. Usually you hear about the Clemson hype in the pre-season, but this year we had to wait till week 4 to hear about it.

But jeeze, If I didn't know any better i would think that the Clemson/VT game was the game of the week in primetime the way ESPN is pimping this thing out. Also, CFB "Experts" are picking Clemson to win at VT. LOL!!!!

hope Hokies win to once again put down the annual Clemson drool fest.

I went over to Atlanta for the BAMA/Clemson game in '08. Clemson ranked 9 or 10 and BAMA unranked. I've never seen a more dejected fan base than they were after that game. It was a thing of beauty.

yes. i know all to well of Clemsons hype off the field and on the field success. living out here completely across the country of Clemson I hear about their preseason hypes. And this week ESPN is trying to make up for all the lost time during this pre season with the Tigers hype.

Nah, you're just confused. They've been hyped in the preseason once in the last 5 years.

2011: Unranked
2010: Unranked
2009: Unranked
2008: #9/#9
2007: Unranked

And those years that they were unranked, they weren't even close to the top 25 in the "others receiving votes" category.

And so... they've actually outperformed preseason expectations twice in the last 5 years (finished ranked in 2007 and 2009) and only fell short once.
