Hope his knee is feeling belter

May 27th 2016:

Knowshon Moreno says he's laser-focused on an NFL comeback -- with the running back telling TMZ Sports he's healthy and ready to go ... and would love to return to his old team in Denver.

The 28-year-old -- who hasn't played since suffering an ACL injury in 2014 -- appeared on the "TMZ Sports" TV show on FS1 and discussed his comeback plans.

"I still have a lot in the tank ... probably TOO MUCH in the tank! I have to let it out!"

I'm torn on this one. I do think Moreno if healthy and half way in shape could be an impact player. He was good at just about everything but staying healthy as a RB. I would question how good of football shape he is in though with being out for so long. So I would probably rather bring in a guy that has actually been playing football or at least been on a Practice Squad somewhere.

The report I read was that Moreno has bone on bone. If true not sure how much he has left.

Williams is a good player, if he's in shape. Obviously his offseason was a complete train wreck so I have to question his focus toward the game. I think Booker is a more than suitable replacement and can carry the load

Schefter tweets CJ could be back in 4 weeks after minor and successful surgery! i could see us starting to work him in slowly on our road trip to Jax and Tenn. Get him ready for Pats and Raiders and Chiefs

That sucks about CJ, but I think Booker can pick up a lot of the slack. And I really hope Janovich gets worked into the game plan more now. I was already wanting to see more of Janovich, because he brings so much to the offense in that when he is in there you really don't know whether he is going to run, block, or catch a pass out of the backfield. He is a threat to do all three. Plus he brings more toughness to the offense.

Good news! I had given up hope on him returning before the end of the season.

I figured there was a good chance for him to come back. Now since he did go on IR I think he has to sit out 7-8 weeks. So that would mean his return wouldn't be until week 16 or 17 of the NFL season. A nice thought of him returning well rested and ready for the playoffs giving us a nice boost at that point. Hopefully that is the case.

Did he actually go on IR? All I heard was that he was likely to go on IR

Hmmm maybe they haven't done it yet. I don't see it listed on their official transaction list yet. So maybe if this surgery only keeps him out 4 weeks they chance it and keep him on the roster. I know last year the Broncos kicked themselves for putting Bruton on earlier than they should have as I think he would have been ready by the time the AFC Championship game rolled around. He was for sure completely healed for the Super Bowl and kept wanting to practice with the team but couldn't with IR rules.

I hate these times when so much is unknown. Ian Rappaport just reported that it will take months for the injury to heal up since it was a full repair not just a shaving of the meniscus. Never quite know who to believe in these situations.

This whole episode has been flaky from him playing on the injury to 2 opinions to having surgery in California to how long he might be out.

Yeah can't quite remember an injury that played out quite like this.

Well Schefter has doubled down saying that he heard the actual surgery was minor in comparison to what some are reporting. Said he will still miss some decent time but should return at some point. So again just no clue.

The fact that the Broncos are taking some time to decide if he should go on IR or not makes me think it isn't as serious as some have made it out to be. If this was a 2-3 month recovery time I think they would already know and have decided to IR him. Maybe there is more to wait and see before making a final decision and I'm just being too hopeful for his return. I just can't figure this situation out.

Report is knee surgery went well. Out a month.

I really hope that is the case. He would be a huge player for us down the stretch and especially in the playoffs.
