Chargers' Mike Williams to Potentially Miss Season with Back Problems

Obviously I could have put it better - but the Chargers have really tried finding the next LdT and missed because both guys Mathews and Gordon have been often injured running behind subpar lines. They really would/should have been better served rebuilding by spending premium first round selections on both lines exclusively because athletic linemen are at more of a premium than smaller skill position players (RBs/WRs).

Most complaints from the Charger fans here, mimic this line of thinking.

Oh I hear you. Redskins fans all want offensive linemen in the first round every year. And obviously Mathews was never going to be another LT, but then again LT is one of the best running backs I have ever seen. But I still like the Mike Williams pick, WRs today are real difference makers.

So the lack of first round picks, was that as I said Beathard trading next year's 1 for this year's 2 on draft day? He did that a ton in DC. Hit on most of them but it sucked not having a first round pick year after year.
