Reasons why 8 "legitimate" playoff contenders have the most favorable schedules to get to the CFP.

Top 8 most favorable schedules.
1. Washington
2. Miami
3. Wisconsin
4. Kansas State
5. Penn State
6. Louisville
7. Georgia
8. Alabama

WTF...last year Wisconsin had the most brutal path. Now they have the 3rd most favorable. Washington is same/same as last year per the article. Gotta love unbalanced schedule difficulty.

8 teams that could ride favorable schedules to the 2017 College Football Playoff | FOX Sports

Of course these will change as some of these opponents that look tough will crap the bed ala Notre Dame, Sparty last year. And some opponents that look easy will turn out to be much tougher ala Colorado, etc. What say ye o CFB debating brethren?

Alabama #8 pretty much killed all credibility for me.

While it’s totally unfair to say that any team that opens with Florida State has an “easy” schedule,

Yeah, no shit. And yet they couldn't help but continue to write the ignorance. Citing a few easy teams that follow as a reason just doubles down on the stupid because most all of college football is also playing those easy games without the FSU quality team on top.

And then it goes on to completely gloss over the SEC.

Looks like they just wanted to name drop Alabama to get more attention. Well grats, here's your 2 minutes of attention, and me forever thinking you're stupid.

Having 3 creampuffs on the schedule sucks. O well, I guess we have an SEC schedule again.

Washington better not drop a single game or they're probably out with that OPC schedule.

I wish Auburn was a home and home. I would love to see different teams up here, however it seems like some will never schedule these.

The home & aways with Michigan and Ohio St. will make up for it. I'm looking forward to those series.

That's going to be the two toughest ones for sure. That and no idea what ASU and UCLA will look like this year. When those two teams are supposed to be good they suck and vice versa.

Basically it's a list of teams that schedule for shit out of conference. Not that they actually will make the playoffs.
Yeah, that was supposed a list of teams that could be "playoff contenders" and have a favorable schedule to get there. I didn't see all of them as "playoff contenders"...but WTF do I know.

Jesus, I just looked at the list and assumed it had to be everyone. They are using the word "contender" very liberally.

I don't know that there's much to write about in the SEC this year. Alabama is obviously elite, but nobody else is even worthy of a top 10 ranking. Auburn could be good if Stidham works out, and LSU should be solid yet unspectacular and offensively limited as they have been, but I'm not seeing much from the likes of A&M and Ole Miss. Also, it looks like you miss Florida and Georgia, who should be the top dogs in the East.

Isn't that pretty much the case across 99% of college football?

The SEC isn't what it was a few years ago, but I don't think it's suddenly become even close to being the weakest conference.

Ranking College Football's Top 25 Toughest Schedules for 2017

This site has Alabama #10 toughest, and yet the article in the OP has Alabama as top10 easiest playoff path.

Oh I definitely wouldn't say they're even close to being in the discussion for being the weakest conference. I'm just saying "playing an SEC schedule" doesn't automatically mean "tough schedule" like it used to. That was more my point. That said, any schedule that has FSU, LSU, and @ Auburn on it shouldn't be among the 10 weakest by any stretch.
