Can someone sum up how they plan to do the CFP?

idk if this stat is true or not, but if it is that means ASU is 2-0 and everybody else somehow went 2-19. Scrubs, holding the Sun Devils down.

Yeah, sorry, we don't count beating 7-6 teams that happened to be ranked when you beat them as ranked wins. End of Year is the only thing that counts for past seasons.

So, you're not 2-0, you're 0-2, you lost to #18 Fresno St in the 2018 Sun Bowl and #23 NC State in the 2017 Sun Bowl.

They do count as wins against other P5 conferences, which lately puts ASU near the head of the pack, because those have been pretty scant too.

With leagues starting at all sorts of different times, and with everyone going with conference only scheduling, how are they going to decide the 4 team playoff? When is it going to be held?

My guess is you'll have to award the conference winner a spot, So one conference's champ is obviously going to have to be left off. Let's just make that the Big12.

PAC-12 champ goes
SEC champ goes

But when will they be held?

Those conferences that start the season too early will likely lose players at some point in the season, and that will affect the outcomes of games - or even lead to cancellations. The ones that are playing it smart by starting the last week in September may be able to stick it out and survive the whole season. Of course, there's no guarantee there won't be another flare-up or a newly-mutated disease to deal with late in the season, but I think the Pac-12 & SEC have the right idea about start and end dates.

There will not be an 8-team playoff. If we are still able to hold a playoff at season's end, it will still be a four-team phenomenom.
