Surprised to see Harbaugh that low. Guy's supposed to be a top coach for a top program.
It's cherry picking stats by choosing the worst possible record for him. But I'll allow it.Surprised to see Harbaugh that low. Guy's supposed to be a top coach for a top program.
I think fans of teams like Ohio State have unrealistic expectations about what a coach can and can't do in a few years. After two 10 win seasons and losing the most players to graduation and the NFL in program history, it's not unreasonable to have a down year. The fact that our down year includes one of the best defenses in college is pretty telling. This year is nothing like anything we experienced under the RR or Hoke years.
Sure, fans who hate Harbaugh or Michigan can laugh at the losses. But it's unrealistic to think that Harbaugh won't succeed here in the long term.
I don't agree, but that's fine.LOL at "one of the best defenses in college"
You just got shell shocked by the only good offense you have faced. Penn St scored 42...they averaged 32.5 against their other P5 opponents.
You gave up 17 to Florida...same as the other two decent teams they have played
You gave up 20 to Indiana...they are averaging 16 in B1G play
You gave up 14 to Michigan St in a monsoon...they are averaging 18 against P5
You don't have an opponent this year that someone else hasn't held to less points.
In short, your "best defense" is a product of your schedule.
Certainly you have talent on your defense....particularly up front, but let's try not to go full homer with the superlatives. I'm pretty sure you're not even top 4 in the B1G.
He didn't even read it.too bad no one will read this

Would that help change your opinion? I don't think anything I say will persuade you.Or here's a novel idea....
you could present some facts that support your opinion.

Check out our defensive stats. Most are top 10. No matter what teams you're playing, that's typically indicative that you're a really good defense.Facts are facts, if you've got some comparative facts that support Michigan as "one of the best defenses" in college that isn't a function of the shit offenses you have faced, I am all ears. But when Rutgers holds the same opponent to fewer points you can understand how I am going to be skeptical.

Michigan is 1-17 in their last 18 games as an underdog.
No I don't know which game they won.

89 and 102?LOL No.
To make your statement accurate, you'd have to take an identical look at the offensive stats of the opponents you played.
Total Offense and Scoring Offense
Florida - 102 and 95
Cincy - 109 and 110
Purdue - 79 and 94
Mich St - 89 and 102
Indiana - 94 and 88
Those are what makes paper tiger defenses.
Penn St (27 and 16) was your first opponent that has an offense with a pulse.
In the poll taken "Who Wins, Mich or Penn St"
51 had Penn St. Just 8 had Michigan
33 of those who had Penn St had them by more than10 points.
How do you figure they came to that conclusion before they voted?

89 and 102?
Even one week might help but we have to wait until the last week for Rutgers. But it's only going to get worse with Penn State next week and Ohio State the week after that.Too bad you don't play Nebraska every week. They could fix those numbers right up for ya.
