I just re-looked at that Reds fan clip. He looks a bit old to have a glove on... How old do you think he is?

I stopped bringing my glove to the game probably around 12 or so, but I don't think twice if I see an adult with their glove at the game. I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

Anyone see an extened clip? I see a girl next to him and a boy behind him. I wonder if one of them ended up with the ball?

As far as I can tell, it only seems fully acceptable at Giants games. They encourage people to bring their gloves.

I know this is kind of a macho thing, but as I do not play that game, I see it as just a safety precausion. In the video shown, the guy is sitting close enough to the field to get killed by a ball. To me, I know I could protect myself better with a glove than without.

However, if you are sitting in the cheap seats, and you did not arrive in time to watch batting practice and shag home run balls, then you have no excuse.

I voted it's okay for adults...mainly because if they enjoy it, why not? doesn't harm me in anyway; none of my business

personally, I haven't brought mine inside the stadium since probably that 10-12 range. I say inside because I still bring it to the game to toss the ball around with my sons outside during tailgating.

Why?

They didn't catch it.

To the victor goes the spoils I say.......

I wouldn't bring a glove to a game but there's nothing wrong with someone who wants to.

I don't blame someone for bringing gloves if they were sitting where that fan was. Would you want to get hit by a line drive?

Just one of those unspoken man laws... Like, "Don't bring a glove to a game."

A game ball is infinitely more important to a child than to an adult.

What are you going to do with a game ball?

I bring Chuck Norris to games, so I don't have to worry about stuff like that.

I once caught two foulballs at the same Pirates game. I gave them to my kids.

After I caught the second one, another guy joked "now you're just getting greedy." I told him I wasn't done yet...I have three kids. :yahoo:

oh, and I caught them bare-handed..no glove for me :nutswing:

I havn't taken my glove to a game since I was about 14-15.

But I can say from experience that it is embarrassing to drop a foul ball, then have all of Comerica start chanting "Yankees Suck" at you:lol:

Depends on where your seats are. If you are sitting in a location that has a high % chance of a ball traveling rapidly towards your face it would be smart to take a glove regardless of age.
Also baseball games are long, having a glove gives you something to fidget with and a conversation piece as well.
If you bring a sharpie along you never know if there is smoking hot girl you could walk up to and ask her to sign your glove to break the ice.
Just dont leave glove under your seat when you leave.

Always brought my glove as kid. Didnt matter where I was sitting. Only have once as a non-kid. Had seats in the first row on third baseline. Didn't feel like getting my face crushed.

If you are where he is sitting its always OK to have your glove. If you are in the nosebleeds and bring your glove as an adult there is something wrong.

Well, I don't always do too well following ACTUAL laws, so.......

A game ball is infinitely more important to a child than to an adult.

Maybe. Maybe not.

What are you going to do with a game ball?

Add it to the 2-3 dozen others I have been collecting since I was a child. In the man cave, of course.
