Does anybody have any info on this guy? I have been seeing him being mocked to us in a couple of mocks. Im guessing a buffalo nickel type player for us. Can play slot CB. JDR likes three safeties on the field.

I just read a write up on him that had him falling to the 2nd rd due to a disappointing combine showing. People get too caught up in the combine at times imo, but I can't front. I saw that he ran a 4.58 40 n that neither pleased or sparkled with me.

I'm hearing Minkah Fitzpatrick comps a lot. I thought Minkah was overrated as well. Turned out he can play

Nfl.com has a solid report on him. He's nearly identical to the Fitzpatrick report. Not saying I'm hoping to land him at 16 but he looks good

True, Forrest's play squashed Butler. I don't know if Bulter could play big nickel. I know JDR like 3 safeties on the field at times. Maybe that is why they are mocking this guy to us.

If this guy is picked, yes. I agree with you. I forgot what Butler's strengths were from last draft. He just played St's for us last year.

DT Mathis was a huge botch, especially with DTs available this year, we past on George Pickens and Alec Pierce.
Also drafted Butler over Tariq Woolen....I'm waiting for the day RR lets the fans pick for him

Well when we traded down to get Dotson we weren't going WR in round 2. I thought the Mathis pick meant that Payne was leaving. I really wanted Hamilton last year in the first round if we stayed put. The trade down that netted Dotson, Robinson, Howell, and Turner could be huge for us. Those guys could be the offensive leaders this year.

Mathis got hurt n couldn't play. And if anyone says they knew Forrest was gonna play like he did last year. I'd call them n their momma some fuckin liars. Lets give the kids a chance to see if they can contribute. Right now the way to spell bust is Saahdiq Charles.

I think you and others read too much into picks from round 3-7. Rounds 1-2, you expect starters.

Round 3, you hope for a starter.

Round 4-5, you hope for a contributor.

Round 6-7, you simply hope.

The Mathis pick was insurance. Payne had a career year, so we didn’t let him walk. It was unexpected. This is how teams plan and don’t get desperate. Mathis getting hurt did not help.

Yes. I didn’t mind the Mathis pick. He could’ve been Payne’s replacement. However, Payne earned the right for a big contract and RR staying true to his word rewarded him. Now Payne needs to keep it up

None of us has a real clue. He was projected as a third rounder but us regular fans don’t usually appreciate run stoppers.

totally agree. that was my justification about the Mathis pick too.
