I think if Sam restructured his contract he would still be here. A couple weeks ago when they interviewed Sneed you could tell his attitude was different about Bradford. I think that sam not restructuring caught them offguard completely. Also when the Rams gave him permission to seek a trade they didn't think anybody would take on his salary. But the Eagles did.

Why would you not restructure after making $70 million and playing 60% of the time? I don't think it caught them off-guard, I think the Rams finally said enough is enough and it was time to move on. Finally

Eh, ALR. A league minimum tender offer (one year, 1.5 million) has been extended to Davis. He'll probably sign the deal (I believe he already has). Hill has an offer from Minnesota and the Raiders. Hill is not coming back.

Could've resigned Davis and not given up a pick

I thought we were signing him too? Foles will make 1.5 in his last season. Davis I thought was getting 1.5 as well. So that's 3 QBs.. Ammiright?

Oh its just an offer to Davis? I'm sure he'll accept.

Yep SJ76. Right now we have Foles, Davis, and Case Keenum as we just gave up a 2016 7th rounder to the Texans for him.

That's true Cougar. I think the Rams were expecting a Chris Long type of approach where Long re-structured his deal twice and when Sammie didn't budge, he was going to be gone to the first taker. Snisher didn't hesitate.

There really was no way to restructure his contract & him still getting the money without an extension. Sounds like the Rams wanted him to take less money. Why would he do that?

The re-structuring Davis_Mike has to do with Sammie not playing very much and not accomplishing much for the money the Rams doled out. Its a long story but as SJ76 has stated, the Rams patience with Sammie had finally run out.

Yeah I believe Mr. Davis is getting the green light on being a back-up in the NFL. And that's ok by me. I guess the Rams could draft the project kid from South Alabama and let him and Case battle it out. Not sure why they traded for Case? You have the draft and plenty of left overs coming for a possible 3rd stringer.

Maybe because he made over $70 million for playing 60% of the time and it would help bring in better blockers for the guy to stand on 2 legs?

Like I said in the general forum, I'm shocked by this. Good news is we got rid of that hefty contract on Bradford. On the other hand I'm not too sold on Foles. I wish Bradford the best and hope Foles can produce for us. I'd still like us to look at the draft for a QB for competition.

Yep Cougar and ALR. It looks like they are going to sit on the details for awhile. One thing for sure, we have a new QB and huge cap space and Sammie is now an Eagle so everyone can trash the hell out of him without going on the Negativity thread!!..
Oh good....

Its only a 7th rounder, we could get it back through other draft day trades.

I agree SJ76. It is obvious the Rams are going to go after O-lineman in the draft and possibly that kid from South Alabama I am seeing good things regarding him.

I understand that, but you guys can't realistically expect a young player whose value is about equal to his salary just to take a paycut? It's not like a restructure with a player on a longterm contract who will get that money anyways, you are asking him to take a paycut.

It's silly that people even expect guys to take a paycut less than their value just to help out the team.

HALLELUJAH!!! Thank you Philadelphia! First Shottenheimer is gone, now we get rid of the biggest sit down to pee female genitalia in the NFL, BAR NONE!! My most hated player traded to one of my most hated teams. It's truly a glorious day to be a Rams fan. Restores my faith in humanity.....and Chip Kelly's stupidity. I figured if we got anything more than a bucket of fermented camel piss for that kitten it would be gravy. So much for all the lip service that the FO was spewing about how wennie boy was their QB.
