Texas will vote down BYU after the poundage they have taken from the Cougars lately.

Hmm...any chance the big dogs are trying to get the conference to expand so they can leave? Being at 10 members, the Big 12 would essentially dissolve before they dropped down to 8. That wouldn't sit well with the Oklahoma and Texas politicians if TTU, Baylor, TCU, and OSU were left out in the cold. However, if they add 4 teams, the conference would only drop to 12 if OU and UT left, ensuring those schools a place to play, albeit probably not at a level that is considered "Power 5" anymore.

Like I've been saying since this started: the key will be to watch the GOR. If Texas and OU dont dont re-up on the GOR, then that's exactly what will happen.

From what I've read, no one even wants to broach the subject with Texas. They've hinted that they are fine with expansion, but they will NOT sign a new GOR or give up LHN during this eight year period left on the contract.

EDIT: all I say is just from what I've read from multiple sources. And I'm not an expert on the matter, take all I say on this with a grain of salt.

I hope for WVU fans that the new additions to the Big 12 are Cincinnati and/or Memphis. It looks like BYU and Houston are in.

How do the WVU fans feel about the addition of Houston since the Governor of Texas has proclaimed Houston should be in, there is this hospital thing going down in Houston, Texas Billionaires making threats, yada yada yada.

That will be Texas school number 5. Within the next 20 year time frame, do you think RICE and SMU will be back in? I do.

Not good. I see the writing on the wall and I hate this. I'd rather not expand at all. Fuck this.

After these GoR expire this league is done. My one true hope is that Texas and OU go out west or to the B1G. Should they choose ethier of the other two my team will no longer be in a P5 conference.

Well, it's going to take 8 of the 10 to vote for Houston coming in. And the word is there are two for sure who dont want them, so they have a hard road ahead.

Then this conference would be done sooner then the GoR or it'll survive until something truely turbulent happens.

This is what people are ignoring. The Big 12 doesn't flat out own Houston anymore, so adding UH gets that back, and basically turns the Big 12 into the new SWC and phases out Texas a&m from the state of Texas. Houston might not help with some fictional big 12 network that won't ever happen, but it helps with Tier 1 & 2 since UH currently moves the needle. I promise you the only reason Texas fans like myself don't want them in the big 12 is for recruiting purposes, as it is Tom Herman already got a 5 star which is rare for a G5 school.

I think B1G and SEC start poaching B12 schools

writing is on wall, 4-16 team Power conferences

Who do they want besides Texas and OU?

Good question. B1G values bball so Kansas could be an option. Some teams could be left out, I'm not sure anyone wants Iowa State or K State

No thanks, I'd rather stay in the big 12.

Yes, but Big 12 isn't going to take on schools that just dilute the money pool, they need to expand to keep up and they're weakest of the P5 right now

It might not be up to Texas.

Weakest, fewest in numbers or most vulnerable? If weakest, the weakest in what?
