It sucks to hear KBurt, but in CFB today, if you aren’t pulling in top 5 and top 10 recruiting classes — winning a national title is a pipe dream. Unless Wisconsin figures out of a way to trick elite recruits to come to Wisconsin, they will have the same number of national titles in 250 years, as they’ve had in 128 years. Zero.

Your ceiling is being one of the best teams, in one of the worst divisions in CFB.

They are? Or did Wisconsin have the easiest schedule of any P5 team and played a team coming off losses to a 2 TD loss to Pitt and a 5 TD loss to Clemson in their bowl game. A team who hasn’t won 10 games in 15 years?

Ummm your best win in the last 20 games is 7-6 Purdue.

Just stating facts, just like the 0 NC’s in 128 years. Wisconsin is a very good program, but to win a national title they’d need an act of god, especially with the current format.

They had a better chance when you just had to win one game. In the current format, where you have to win 2 games, it isn’t happening.

We'll just take it game by game. You can't win a CFP game until you are invited. Right now, neither of us can claim that. But I'll take 13-1 over 8-5

No doubt. I would too. But as long as CFB is big business and the schools with the deepest pockets and biggest brands get the best recruits, you could let someone pick 10-12 schools and the national champion will come from that group for the next 20+ years.

Unfortunately for you, Wisconsin isn’t part of that 10-12 teams. Michigan is.

Did you know Jimmy Jam's the best coach in the BigTen because he played & coached in the NFL? And when he fails again next year to turn that shit program of his around some meeeechegan fans that hug his nuts 24/7 will cry that he needs more time.

Congrats on the fact that "someone" picks your team to be one of "10-12 teams" that might win a championship in the next "20+ years," I guess?

It isn’t someone — it is the amount of teams who bring in the recruits necessary to win a championship.

If you don’t agree — tell me the last team to win a national title and didn’t have any top 10-15 recruiting classes in the past 4 year cycle.

This year’s matchup is:

Alabama — recruiting class ranking last 4 years 1,1,1,1
Georgia — recruiting class rankings last 4 years 3,6,6,8

Go down the board and tell me when you find on who averages recruiting classes in the 30’s like Wisconsin

We don't have to hypothetically argue how good Wisconsin would be based on recruiting rankings. We saw them play this year. You know, when the Badgers went 13-1 with our only loss coming to a top five team by six points. Without the injuries to Cephus or Dixon, that team whose recruiting classes are 1, 1, 1, and 1 probably doesn't make the playoffs at all. We do.

You are trying to use trends and correlations to say that Wisconsin can't compete with the best teams in America, instead of looking on the football field and seeing that they pretty obviously can.

And, of course, the irony of your little trends is that the very same trends and metrics will show that Wisconsin has outperformed the recruiting rankings yearly for 20 years and produced top ten NFL talent in that time.

I'm sure you think that Michigan has a better chance to win a title than Wisconsin in the next decade. I'm also sure that a decade ago you would have said Michigan would have more wins than Wisconsin in the next decade. Yet here we stand, a decade later, and you not only had fewer wins. You didn't even have one season with more wins than us.
